I would humbly request the Dust 514 Engineers, make a Nanohive that does not slide down a slope and vanish somewhere into Oblivion.

They are working as designed according to the Devs.
Place them on a flat surface. Later versions will explode when they fail. That should increase the care used with their placement. |

So they are getting the same explosive paint job as dropships? Toss it into a wall and it blows up in your face? All because we've lost the ability to drop something straight down in the future. |

"Everyone hug the heavy! He's full of ammo and just wants to be loved." Or perhaps allow an equipment item that lets you deploy an item on yourself? Use the equipment mount and then use the deployable you want to attach to yourself, and it stays on you. You become a mobile spawn point, nanohive, or even I suppose a kamikaze with a mine or remote explosive.. This is all at the cost of either movement speed or inability to use your other equipment while this is running. |

I would gladly sacrifice a lower slot or even high slot, for a place just to carry Duct Tape (Adhesion Level 1?). Surely an advancement that could change the face of the whole Battlefield. |

It would be fun if you could have a teammate put a remote explosive on you, then you run into a group of enemies and, after they kill you, teammate sets it off. |

Plausibly an enemy's fire would hit the explosive, turning the clone into sharp fragments ... hey, that works for me

I like the idea of a sticky hive. Possible deployment options being on a tank, an lav, a dropship, your heavy. This would make a KC-R nanohive a new accessory for a heavy. I can imagine a heavy walking around with 2 of them stuck to his back and being GOD LIKE!
EDIT: I know there's a reason I shouldn't like this idea, oh yeah, the exploitation of the sticky factor...did you mean that they should be able to stick to the ground? Not to vehicles or clones.
Maybe planted on a spike or tethered on a chain of some sort so they could be hung on a wall if need be. |

Don't excuse lazy programming. In a futuristic game, it's not too much to ask for a high-tech substance that stops stuff from sliding around. The fact that it slides around at all is bull crap. It's a heavy piece of metal that is hitting the dirt. That doesn't slide in real life, so why should it in this game? The fact is, this is a video game and the surfaces do not actually have realistic friction based on the material type. A flat surface is a flat surface, regardless of the material, and the angle of that surface determines the degree to which an object slides.
They've got a simple physics engine that is creating a situation of complete nonsense, so they don't deserve any excuses from anyone. |

Agree 100%
I dropped a compact hive once, before I knew about the sliding, right on top of a bunch of wrecked teammates. The hive scuttled away underneath a nearby container and nobody could use it. Man, all those missed war points. |

I think there are two things going on here.
1) OP wants deployed equipment to stop sliding around like a greased pig. 2) Suggestion for a "sticky" nanohive that will attach to things.
Sadly, the devs appear to have only noticed #2 when #1 is desperately important now. |

Give me duct tape, or a web/glue gun, and lets get really creative. That would be amazing. I envision A katamari tank with other vehicles and soldiers stuck to it for a porcupine of death. |
