hi, just going to say me and a buddy just installed and started playing your game, and needless to say, we will not be playing any farther.
the 2 hours mentioned were boots on the ground on the fight time, not total time.
from the get go, we understood that you could pay to enhance your experience, however little did we know how little you could accomplish with the given equipment, in less then an hour we had a decent handle on the controls and feel of the game however we continued to come up short on our firefights, even when we had 2 on 1's in nearly every match we played we seen players with much higher experience and vastly superior weapons, everyone, not just a few, i mean everyone had "named" versions of guns, and you could see grenades being far different as well, constantly we encountered matches where we all got steamrolled and were almost always unable to simply provide any challenge or fight back in any frame or sort of the word, it was a slaughter fest with our meat on the menu, so after a few matches like that we decided we needed to look at new weapons and skills, so we took the time to have a very good look around the store in game, (load times were atrocious) and tried a few new weapons, (p*ss poor descriptions by the way) and built our own custom dropkits with enough guns to last an entire match, and again, mowed down... apparently the guns we got were just as bad because we did not have the skill points enough to get the "good" ones, so we thought "lets get into tanks or better yet, the flying things"
oh how we were mislead by those intro cutscenes....
when the vehicle section finally loaded, we looked blankly at the pricing of even some of the lower tier flyers and tanks, it's no wonder why you rarely see these on the battlefield, the "drivers license" for any of them costed 3 times the amount even to get a single unit on the field never mind a replacement for the one that gets taken out in the first 3 seconds trying to figure out how it works, both of us thought the same thing;
"what the hell, what is going to make us want to play this game for the time it takes to get anything half decent if we can't enjoy the first 2 hours of gaming?
why would we spend a week in anger trying to work up enough SP and cash dieing constantly to play in one dropship in one game for less then a quarter of the match? "
why do we, simply never have equal footing?
why even keep trying? XP system is crappy, guns are trash, and any vehicles worth their coin is out of reach...
so we came to the conclusion: this game is not fun. |

Ever tried playing Eve? demon souls is hard, this game is nothing like that, when you need a mag and a half to kill a man when they only need a burst, there is something glaringly wrong there, and no i have never played EVE, i was told this was a new way to check out the experience, and everything i've seen so far seems very very bad, and you sir, are out of line mentioning that awful game. |

Honestly, you'll need to grind for about 3 weeks. why the hell would i enjoy getting stomped for three weeks? what would make me come back and say: " i feel like dieing 100 times in a row with nothing i can do about it" ?
as it stands right now, this game is absolutely trash, how can i ever even begin to grind anywhere near that much skill when everyone and their dog has 5 million skillpoints higher then i do, and are the only ones playing the game?
i would look like one of the dairy cows walking to get my head sliced off, over and over, you stating the fact that if you were to loose your advantage you would be angry, well news flash, nearly all players have an advantage over newcomers so far it's impossible to enjoy what this game could offer. |

You don't join a corp, did you. ...Join a corp. see above quote.
who is pro, who is keq, who is std? and what makes them necessary for a good time? is this game not about being a merc? why can i not have a half decent time puging? weekend warriors need not apply? why does this game require no life away from controller for it to be enjoyable?
what makes pugstomping fun? the gratification that only the core group will end up playing the game? |

Tony Calif wrote:To join a corp you have to want to play the game. As the OP states, after 2 hours, most players are like "wtf is this rubbish?" Multiple YouTube "reviews" prove this point of view. Even if you join a corp, they might not even be good, and then you're stuck with terribads game after game.
Really, we need the training/farming area. this game currently sits in an unplayable state for new players, there is no beating around the bush, it is not something i really want to come back too, too many engagements lost by having inferior tech, this game has lost it's ability to bring in new players from nowhere, no olive branch from a corp can change this, because that corp will forever be always trying to level up lower players to an ever climbing bar they'll never reach.

Judge Rhadamanthus wrote:OP has it right and also wrong : Help us, you are a new customer. Let CCP know you troubles in a polite and balanced way. . you bring up good points here, thank you,
however, there is nothing as a new player drawing my attention to specific players for any particular reason when the ticker is always rolling and i am still trying to figure out where i am going and what point i should be defending or capturing, nobody pugging communicates and nobody pugging is coordinated.
i feel as if any time trying to follow others is not going to help my survival any because they are all walking to their death like i am.
being new i have no idea what suit or gun is what, and the menus are long and slow to navigate and can get frustrating when a fast key-press causes you to sit for a full minute waiting for a cash to game cash menu pops up, it causes us to only spend so much time within those tedious menus, the only saving grace to actually getting any new weapons in a kit was the quick menu beside the prerequisites subtab on any particular weapon or thing (the skill shortcut) because finding this before that shortcut was not happening easily.
currently i had wasted money on weapons and chose a class based on ideas that came from other games, (i like to fight with battle rifles, not snipers but longer range then assault, more like carbines) and so i chose the sniper class, finding the gun to be quite useless i started putting sp into "general gun use" and SMG skills, and buying said "rusty poor SMG" and what i thought might be more akin to a DMR; the tactical sniper, only to stand frustrated with another near-bolt action bob-and-sway fest (even while crouching) with less damage potential,
armor and other equipment were very confusing with the CPU and other restrictions to low skill players so i only looked briefly and noted the current kit looked on par, (with lessens learned from the sniper rifle) the following matches went so poor i started simply trying the other classes and also finding all of them to fail me and my friend, only to continue our frustration, we simply stopped playing after learning about the inability to try any of the machines available for use.
nobody stands out, there are no leaders calling for tactics, there are no guides to player builds or whatever, there is no straight forward way to ask the game how to meet some specific goal, there is no way to organize the store better,
(get rid of that damn aurum ad on every damn page)
you get a short mention about prototype weapons being better but you don't get how they are obtained and even if you had the money skills and prerequisites you don't know what that weapon will handle like or how the numbers are in game till you play for far longer then any greenhorn has, so players always waste funds buying 15 crappy rifles they don't want.
the biggest thing i need to point out is putting folks that don't even know the buttons against skilled ranking officers is unforgivable, just simply awful and that player could care less about another mark on his rifle, so you ( need to. |
