So when you read that Title what did you think? I was going to rage how they were OP becuse i got butt hurt in a battle? well I was going for shock value to get non pilots in here to read and added the ! for effect, and I`m ignoring the "don`t repeat feedbacks" becuse for the entire time this game has been in privet and public beta CCP has ignored theese threads so here us Pilots dmande a ballance to asue the DS are not UP.
not what do i mean DS (DropShips) are UP (Under Powered)? they hold a fight and are ballanced as a meduim ranking vehicle, the catigorys of DSes we have fullfill their catigory (in some ways not, like the logistics solely, as an advance LOGISTICS it could use a bit more CPU/PG, I would expect the Standard Logistics DS to be the same as the Promithies/Eryhx beside being weaker), but it goes down to the awards, what can a pilot gain?: the DS is, sure, a fine way of entertainment but kill assists/vehicle kill assists for a fully decked out DS? no, it does not mesure equaly, as amny people say, the DS is the logi of the air but it truly isn`t as long as:
A logi bro can gain SP for:
healing Dropsuits. team spawning/squad spawning (via uplink). (they gain lots of other SP other ways but that is erelivent to the DS)
while the DropShips don`t gain SP for:
Healing sheild AND/or armor for vehicles and dropsuits installations (note a logi bro can`t get SP for vehicles or installations either). using a CRU or logi DS (huge expense of survival chances there) and getting no points for team/squad spawn ins.
So now what does the Pilot gain currenty for SP? nothing. But wait i thought the pilot gains vehicle kill assits? well yes and no, sure th pilot does but so does anyone else in any other vehicle, so saying the pilot gains that is more so of a lie since its not exclusive to the pilot in a logistics role. My suggestions for how a pilot can gain SP:
the same ammount of Triage/Guardian points for healing any dropsuits, vehicles and intalations as a logi can but if a logi can`t gain SP for instalations/vehicles give atleast SP to the DS (note, I`m still suggesting the logi gets that SP aswell). BUT WAIT AGAIN! their is less total armor in Dropsuits then there are in vehicles and Instalations, so a DS can rack up SP for doing armor AND/OR sheilds, well yes, if it isn`t a % then they will, and I find that completly fair, why? Becuse a DS in every way costs more and has a limit of Pulses (the Pulse limit is coming (wait for it) SOON).
10 points per spawn in of a blueberry, squadmate in your DS, either by built in CRU or CRU module, even mroe so since it will be a skill of its own and i would expect you to gain points for your CRU installation spawn ins when they come out.
5 or 10 points per passanger you carry every 60 secounds/minute.
Also note thyat you gain less SP for doing the standard DS roles (makes sense) but by going into advanced DS roles (like sheild Transportation and Armor repair systems) you can gain more SP... also note that the 2 ladders are not exclusive to the DS but works best as them since they are faster and can regain Pulses easier, at the cost of difficulty.
...a little off topic but for a ligistic DS/vehicle module that could be added is an ammo suppllier, works/looks just like an active scanner, has a time limite and a bubble but you gain team resuply points |

They will be placing frontal turrets for the pilot to use so that may help.
yes, at the very least thats what they can do for transporting SP but there NEEDS to be Triage SP in addition. I understand the Assualt DS are coming out but we need to know more about turret placement beside the pilot gets a gun (as in, does anyone else get a gun? and more detailed about passangers), but the Assualt DS is a good assualt DS but not a logi DS and is a HORRIBLE salution to the pilots logical damande for SP. |

But then again, I guess it was stupid of me to think that CCP would actually build a gunship to balance against tanks.
this might not be the thread to ask but the tanks need balancing? in full honesty not in this build but we will know more on the following weeks of May 6th. |

I dont think the tanks need a nerf at all but I think that there should be another vehicle to go against them aside from just another tank or infantry. A glass-cannon gunship would make this game infinitely more interesting and strategically relevant and counter the newb railgun tank-snipers. The one good thing that the assault DS might bring about is less campy snipers if they know that a DS can swoop in and pop them at any point.
agreed (kudo), and the tankers can`t complain of an A2G tank buster (not neccisarly a DS) since the L missle turrets (maybe 75% of the S missle turrets aswell, note the dumb fire type) will be lock on.... may 6th they are being buffed/updated aswell as the small varients (but not buffed I think) so maybe we can know then?... |

The one good thing that the assault DS might bring about is less campy snipers if they know that a DS can swoop in and pop them at any point. That's assuming the flight ceiling is raised high enough that we can actually get up to where the snipers are camping. I cannot begin to express my frustration at the inability to get above a sniper who walked up a big hill. I can follow up the road on the hill and "beach" myself on said road as it rises to my flight ceiling. At that point everyone has to get out and walk.
it might not be the Fligth ceiling but the vehicle, the Assualt DS cannot fly as high as other DSes so varients in flight ceiling stats should be added, its also safe to assume other vehicles can get higher. |

DSes are good on HP considering their tech lv and the varients.
as for the first part, I`m unsure if your agreeing with me or if your ignoring that triaging vehicles is a major part of DSes.
as for the comment before that, I don`t beleive thats any where near satifactory when it comes to the gain of SP and is only good for 1 action of the DS. |

your joking right? as a suporting vehicles / SP rather then KDR based vehicle that gives you less SP at its highest potenitl uit scores in less SP then militia tanks in a noob server, its NO WHERE CLOSE to being balanced when it comes to SP, everything else is fine except modules that can be palced on but theres a conversation to go in another thread. (PS, only a select few modules were being refared to). |
