Please make it so squads only go up against other squads of equal (or close to it) size. It's annoying to have a group of randoms and go up against a group of 1 or 2 squads who are obviously coordinating and thus kicking the living S out of your team. Thanks.
This is a problem with every FPS I have been in and it's a problem in Dust at the moment for us new players. It's bad enough I have to go up against people with more skill, better guns/suits/ect... But I don't want to go up against a group of them!
As of right now if I notice my team losing a bunch (say we are to 1/2 clones, and there only a 1/4) and I see a bunch of the same corp in the opposing team I just leave the game.
If they want to coordinate and be in a group like that they should have to wait longer so they play against a equally matched team. |

The only thing stopping you from coordinating with the rest of your team is the rest of your team. I often see people in team chat begging people to squad up. If there isn't an existing squad go make your own. Chances are you'll pick up at least one or two like minded hobo's. Who knows you might even pick up a good squad of your own to roll against. It's not a perfect solution but it's (usually) better than ragequitting a match imho. |

Call it what you wants but it's pretty simple. Who wants to play in a game were you have no chance of winning? Maybe if all the corps I played against didn't spawn camp I wouldn't care, but right now they seek out the spawn point (the one and only one) and then proceed to camp the whole area around it and I die on spawn before I can run 10 feet. Or maybe if I am lucky they are around the terrain and I get to run 50 feet to the nearest cover and die on my way. Trying to fight your way out is impossible due to there having better weapons and gear and even if I use the same gear it will be less effective because of there bonuses.
This is the equivalent of me trying to fight a null sec player in eve online who has more experience in PVP, better ships, all T2 and a team to back him up if I can even possibly take him out. Why would I take that fight?
Are you afraid your going to lose your K/D or something because you will have to go against similar qualifications in players?
Another option would be to have a tiered system were people play based on SP/time in the game. So someone with 5000 matches and Proto gear isn't getting matched up against someone with 100 matches and militia gear. Doesn't that makes sense for player retention?
Might I suggest you start a character this coming weekend and go up against some squads/corps of 4-5 players and see how well you do even with your experience in the game. I without that experience (and many other people I am sure) do even worse. Now when I am not going against a squad/corp guess what... I am in the top 3-5 (most of the time top 3) and at worst I am in the top 10. Big difference in WP, big difference in the amount of fun I have!
At this rate I might as well as just max out every week as quickly as possible and not play at all until I get max skills in a few suits. No thanks will just go to another game or go play Eve online. At least in Eve online you aren't forced into playing against superior players (there is things to do besides PVP). |

The only people I hear asking for a squad are people who sound like 10-12 year old kids. No thanks, just hearing them speak grates my ears. |

No thanks, just hearing them speak grates my ears. Yeah, that's a great attitude. Basically, you want to have people who are part of player groups restricted from your matches so that you can lone-wolf in an MMO (and no one start any "It's not an MMO yet bullshit"). I mean, that's like going over to Planetside 2 and demanding servers with Outfits and Squads disabled so that everyone can random. It doesn't make sense.]
The solution to this is a more robust matchmaking system, which CCP have already said they're working on. Right now we're all playing in the same areas of the game, but most of the higher-level player Corps will be hanging out in Planetary Conquest when that releases, so that'll take care of part of the issue. |

I was going to respond to this but I just can't stop laughing about my precious k/d ratio. I run a logibro, the only thing I get jealous of is the size of someone elses needle. If I'm shooting things I'm clearly not doing my job. The K/D ratio is for the other guys. |

Yah. Pub stomping is boring and lame for most of the guys who do it too. I usually roll with my corp, but it's not fun when the enemy gets red lined in the first few minutes of a match. It is more fun to play with friends, and every once in awhile we get some good matches in. Sometimes people are lame and go all-out (I had a game tonight where the other side was using officer gear 0_0) btw officer is better than proto... But most of the time we can just stick to STD or MLT and have some fun matches.
Sometimes we queue sync against each other too. That way we have one of our teams on each side. It makes it a lot more fun. I'm sure that the solo players enjoy having decent squads on both sides too. For the most part, they can run around and do their thing and solo fight other players on different parts of the map.
Hazzah Manacella wrote:If they want to coordinate and be in a group like that they should have to wait longer so they play against a equally matched team.
Meh, I don't want to wait long periods of time just because I'm grouped up with people who are fun to play with. I think it would work just fine if the game paired up squads first, then filled the additional spaces with solo players. Although the game would have to wait until there are two squads so it can put both on one side.
The other problem is that sometimes a squad of people does not want to play another squad from the big name corps. What happens is the game seems to get two squads that are probably around the same stats, but one squad from one corp sees who they are fighting, and just backs out of the match. After that happens, those spots that had a squad are just filled up with solo players.

lol, I heard some guy watching elephant pornography on the discovery channel.
I suggest playing Skirmish. There's a bug right now in skirmish. If one of the MCCs blows up, your kills and deaths are not recorded, so it does not change your KDR. Your KDR will change if one side gets cloned, but that doesn't happen as much as the MCC blowing up does.
I wouldn't leave matches once you're part way through them. Just hide, or play support for a bit. Winning or losing does not change how much SP and ISK you earn. |

Oh also, if you're in ambush and the enemy is camping the only spawn point, hit square instead of x. You'll spawn randomly like usual.
Also, grab some drop uplinks. They help a lot.
And joining a corp helps a lot too. You can learn a lot in corps.
edit: there are some corps that are training corps only. You can join them and play with peeps there, and it is expected that you will leave and join another corp at some point. Training corps are like NPC corps in terms of what it looks like on your "record". Staying in a training corp and moving on is not corp hopping at all. |

I just don't see the point in joining a corp at this point because I need to learn the ins and outs of the game, and also I don't have much time to dedicate to the game so I feel it's better to just play by myself.

I hear that, I play Logi mostly myself and wish I had started off as that. But with a bunch of AUR/BPO's purchased i'm not switching characters. I know I help a lot more doing logi for my team than anything else.

I was actually referring to matching up teams of equal size with other players put in to even it out. But when I see say a team of 3-5 guys and another team of 3-5 guys and nobody on my team is from any corps generally (90% of the time) we get our buts kicked so hard it's not worth playing. I don't care about the SP/ISK... I was capped when I tried to play the other night, and I have enough isk to buy skillbooks for awhile, I just wanted to have fun. And losing 50/0 isn't fun let me tell you. Generally I just wait until I see new players spawning on another spot in the map and then spawn in.

I wish that was true but it seems when you have 5-10 of your team trapped in a corner thats where you spawn. I added a drop link to my logi and generally run around dropping the two I start with off away from spawn but once people start spawning there they get blown up soon after (or run out?). By the time I generally die for the first time it's back to random/team spawn and I don't get a chance to get out of that area to drop anymore drop links.
Trust me I don't mine a tough fight or trying to fight back from being 10 or even 20 clones down it makes it a challenge. But when your team is losing 3-5 clones for every 1 the opposing team is losing and your just spawning and getting killed (or stuck in a corner) because of good team work from the other team I lose all fun I get from the game.
They could just open up the maps and this would prob be a big solution to most of the problems (spawn camping, and teams running down to the spawn point getting a team trapped in a spawn area), but I still would like to see different modes/better matchmaking. |
