In all fairness anyone familiar with Eve, the fiction, game play, and gaming community pretty much expect general douche-baggery. It's the occasional exceptions that throw people for a loop.

Honor isn't about respecting your enemy, it's about protecting your allies. I would gladly send hundreds of foes to a horrible, undeserved fate than have the same thing happen to a single squadmate. |

6000 kills? Really?
Didin't reckon it was possible to get that high this early in the game.

Quote:you always show the enemy team respect. Lolno. I respect people who beat me in a fair fight. And I respect them well enough not to give them a fair fight next time.
Actually, no. I don't.

Quote:If you **** off the enemy team, or certain members, they tend to do worse. They make stupid decisions, hunt down certain members of your team, and ignore everything else. Quit, AFK. Or just generally give up and stop trying to win. My girlfriend is awesome at this. I've seen an enemy team drop 2 Precision Strikes specifically targeting her, one after the other (the first one missed) because they "needed" to get rid of that one really annoying sniper. Her team had 2 tanks on the field demolishing people left and right, but they targeted a lone sniper in the hills.
I get that kind of reaction a lot less often as a Shotgunner, although I frequently become a focus fire target and free up my team to move in just by making myself a target. |

I came into this game new to MMORPG's, new to online FPS's, and new to the PS3 (more specifically the controller). Not only did I suck to the fullest extent of all that does suck, one of the first times I got killed I was melee'd and then teabagged. I also distinctly remember winding up last place for WP (0), with the most deaths on my team (>10). I actually find it quite amusing now, thought I myself don't do that to others cause I'm not in this to be offensive.
The point is, with such a diverse community, things other people do that might be disagreeable with another (yet within game rules) are bound to happen. People shouldn't get too stressed over it. Also, I thought good strafing was pretty elite. I wasn't even aware it was an issue, and it kind of surprises me that it is. |

Honor? No, Eve does not breed honor, in fact it rewards acting like the rear end of a horse.
Responsible gaming? Now I think that has merit. Ever played a boardgame with someone who blatantly exploited the game, or outright treated you with no respect? You won't play with them again. Personally, I like to play the game with people who play with respect, and so I respect others as well, knowing that being a butthead inspires no one to stick around.
I'm not stupid however, if someone drops in a Tank, I don't consider it cheap to shoot it off the dropship with my Forgegun before he has a chance to shoot me. |

Since you put it out there.
1. Spawn camping CRU's & uplinks? I agree with you. I understand how others might consider this cheap and like you -l don't care.
2. trash talk?
"If you **** off the enemy team, or certain members, they tend to do worse. They make stupid decisions, hunt down certain members of your team, and ignore everything else. Quit, AFK. Or just generally give up and stop trying to win. It's psychological warfare"
Well reasoned and justifiable -- at least if this is your thought process before hand. (Though, I'm not sure how you do this without proxy chat...also not sure who checks their mail during a match)
Of course, another possibility is that this is a competent post-hoc rationalization for something you just can't help doing. i.e. Maybe, your just not a nice person.
3. "glitches in certain maps that are supposed to be unreachable"
Cheating. The "supposed to" part is the give away. Classifying those that don't do this as having a perverse kind of e-honor seems a bit self-serving.
4. "You don't tea bag..." [in describing an honor-afflicted player] , and then later "...after you tea bag them in a match of slayer in halo".
You derive pleasure, satisfaction, or some other kind of reward from simulated oral sex acts involving dead or dying (predominantly male) videogame avatars. Have you asked yourself, why? You should probably just invoke "psychological warfare" and we'll leave it at that.

Just remember while tea bagging can be enjoyable it can also result in a loss of situational awareness. Make sure you always teabag safely:

To each their own, my own is this:
I always show the enemy team respect until they proove as a team, or as individuals, they don't deserve it.
But, I don't consider the use of aggressive tactics to be a lack of respect.
Spawn camping to me is mostly just a waste of my time. I'd rather hack the point and have the team move on to other objectives.
Teabagging is waste of my time.
Other forms of psycological warfare are a waste of my time. I've yet to run across someone who has used them effectively on me.
My focus is to take objectives, kill enemy clones and win. Folks can use whatever tactics they want aganst me (good luck). |
