as far as I know, they can carry tons of gear, can shield and armor tank like a heavy, and can carry an AR. The only thing they don't have is a sidearm. What makes them balanced |

The lack of sidearm is the only real downside tbh, I think logi's are a bit slower than assault suits as well, not sure though |

weak shields and armour. one gun means they can't make up for it's weaknesses by carrying a sidearm, anyone smart targets the medic(in this case, the logi's) first. |

Second Slowest, Second frailest, can't cover the weakness of their Light Weapon(especially true for anyone using MD or Lasers) and you never seem to be able to carry all the things you need outside of proto, which which will be costing a hefty amount of ISK if you lose one. While others can get the job done with Militia gear(killing isn't difficult), if you want to be a decent Logi, you have to spend more on at least advanced level equipment to do your job. |

It's slow, it can only be either tank or gank, and it has no sidearm, which, when you play without, is actually a pretty massive downside. Reloading makes them instantly vulnerable. |

They're balanced by the lack of a sidearm, and that they're still generalists.
I haven't played as an assault in a looooong time, but I'm pretty sure that assaults can also be this general- only they're a bit better at basic combat. |

Jack of all trades, master of none. Well... one thing they did master is support. None can match a logi's support ability. |

No sidearms, less health, less speed, & bigger hitboxes. |

It's the one thing that can't be compensated for. Reload vulnerability would be next, but maxxed ammo capacity and reload speed can ameliorate this to a large degree.
I'm running assault with some scout until all passive(shield, armour, weapons, profile, scanning, mobility, stamina, fitting, etc.) support skills are maxxed to make the switch to logi, because fitting logis to be viable is expensive.
Guessing that with the new skilltree coming maxxing all passive support skills is a seriously long-term proposition. |

You've generalized the Logistic Dropsuit to seem as one breed. That is not so....
Using the logistics dropsuit:
Medic: Repairing and Nanite Injector equipment Mechanic: Vehicle Favored Repair Tool, Nanohive, Remote Explosives Scout/Sniper: Droplinks, 2 sets de Nanohives Black Ops Operative: Droplink, *Active Scanner*, Remote Explosives
You have different types of niches that all use the Logistics Suit. Same goes for scouts and assaults. Not so much heavies. So is the Logistic Suit a jack of all trades? No, the Trades all use the jack. |

I don't think all higher grade suits get multiple equipment slots? Haven't looked as I'm about a million SP away from any advanced suit. |

Bigger hitbox and slower strafe speed combined with no sidearm is what balances it As someone who started mainly as an assault with his dropsuit of choice then swappin over to logi i can tell u that these differences are huge |

Only the logi gets more equipment as you move through tiers. |

Last part about needing to spend isk to be good logi is bullshit, you stay back and heal, and revive, you can trail a guy with a healing ray, while saying in cover or using them for cover. With milita gear all blueprints if I am active in a game I am regularly in the top 3.
Its certainly not like the kill leader who needs that edge to get kills. WP gain for healing and reviving is flatlined at millita grade.
You could be more effective, with a higher KD ratio with more expensive gear but again, thats not needed to be ranking in WP's.
The lack of a sidearm does make it difficult sometimes, but thats the trade, its nearly identical to the assult but trading equipment for sidearm, so if you like one or the other vote with your fists and play it. |

Proto assault and proto scout get an extra gear slot, logi goes from 2/1 at std to 3/2 at adv to 4/3 at proto. |

Proto assult gets two.
Of course BPO sever has 3, more than enough to keep you busy. So, yea why go proto or use proto mods unless you want to pad your KD ratio with a fit that has redicoulus tanking. |

you would be right on the high end but the giant hit box and slow movement speed counters this. One on one they are deadly and logis are some of the best players, but the lack of a side are with the above stated mean they fall to any one that can out move, out dodge, or out number them.
that said if used as in a support capacity only they can be extremely deadly, but that depends on teammates as much as their own ability. |
