Ahhh...BAD EXAMPLE. CCP not infallible if you haven't noticed. Do you remember the early swarm launchers? missiles? repair farming? full auto tacticals? did they want that too? And how many would be playing this game with horrible gameplay like that?

They need testers to tell them..."this is horrible and inconsistent, rethink this."
HMGs are fine. I use one about 60% of the time...Its a weapon with a bit too much range if you ask me. |

Melee is hard too. You dont see a 300% pistol whip modifier so its "worth using"
Ain't no style points in war. To make matters even worse the pistol dwarfs the SMG in DPS WITHOUT THE MODIFIER.
Look at the scrambler pistol round damage...why would it need anything higher than the 150% headshot we see already? Since you want to factor dps the scrambler only out dpses the smg at a range, in it's optimal it stomps, and the dps is close considering the rof and mag.
then the real question is why does the scr pistol need a 450% headshot modifier to keep up? oh thats right, it doesnt since it already has more dps |

so much QQ. I personaly cant wait, Ive been looking for a good mid to long semi auto with some ******* finishing power, and expect 80-120 dmg, 200-300% head bonus, 10-12rnd, 80-100m, semi auto. over heat is a must to prevent turbo controllers from turning a skill shot into a high damage long burst AR. |

My guess:
Base damage = 40-45 Charged shot damage = 2x base Headshot modifier = 450% Fire rate = 1/2 current AR at most Kick = Tac AR level
Charged shots give you burst damage, but take longer to charge than firing 2 shots, so it's a solid 80 or 90 HP body-shot, with potential for a 500-ish damage on a headshot. For CQC, the difficulty of tracking a small fast-moving target will reduce the vlaue of headshots, and the lower fire rate and heavy kick means you can't just pop people with high-damage rapid-fire. Effectively it'll be sort of a DMR-type weapon as opposed to the current AR's more standard AR statline. |

There's a difference between changing something because it's actually broken, and changing something because enough people complained. The skill/luck required in landing a headshot is what makes it okay, at least in my book. |
