Today I had a thought...when vehicles reach a certain level of armor damage, they catch fire Resulting in their being dealt damage over time until they are repaired Or explode. Why not add this same mechanic to dropsuits? We'd need some kind of Lore explanation for why the suit catches fire but it could be easily explained, Like by saying that the reactor which powers the suit has been damaged. |

I very much hate this idea. It would punish barely surviving intense fights; survival is survival no matter by close one gets to death, and I see no reason to punish barely surviving. Why should someone still die when someone failed to kill them? Seriously, why do you think this is needed? |

It could be purely cosmetic flames; no fire damage taken.
I'd go for it. |

Mith, what did I tell you about trolling? You're suppose to make such a thread in a way that confuses people on whether or not you're actually serious. |

would it be funny to watch? yes, blueberries running around on fire (could we add screaming to the audio please?), yes I would enjoy that.
Is it a good idea? sadly, no. It adds nothing and is much a waste of Dev time as implementing vehicle burn was in the first place. |

Some people don't like the armor burn mechanic at all. That's fine, that's their decision to make but my perspective Is that CCP need to be consistent with their game mechanics. If it's their feeling that Low armor should be punished by setting your vehicle on fire then that needs to be extended to all armor. Like or or not, they need to either get rid of armor burn or apply it
To all situations where armor is used. There's Really no way around it. Some have issues with how to explain why the suit would catch fire Or think that there's not reason why they would but there's really very Little reason why the vehicles catch fire either. While the Lore supports combustion engines as a historical tech used by some of the civilisations, It is surely likely that mercs using mad tech in combat would use something a little Newer and a little more advanced than flammable fuels anyway. Granted, this idea is still in development and needs a bit more fleshing out but I think it could work. |

Well what would this do?
Decrease HP of people without armor reps.
So all of the sudden, when a heavy has like 85 armor, they catch on fire and die... Seems....ridiculous?

You do realize that a burned up dropsuit won't be able to be brought back by a needle, right?
When a vehicle burns and blows up there isn't anything left of it.

well it is a vehicle it has fluids and gasoline and whatever else ammunition rounds Etc. but dropsuits i imagine run "cool" fluids for the servos and powergrid plus since its so close to a human you bet they would make it fire resistant but think about it when a human gets hurt do they start burning halfway through there heart attack?
