Had a amazing game last night, my k/d ratio was 4/3, earned over 320,000 isk and over 2300 war points which was well over 1000 wp's over every other player. My 8 year old son asked me to show him how to do it. |

I went 34-0 with my proto logi suit last night in one of my games. Didn't die even once for all the 7 games I played last night.

The only advantage an enemy gets on the field is what you give them. Suits or weapons have nothing to do with it.

Wouldn't surprise me, I got to play against you yesterday and it was a lot of fun.
And gratz to the OP it's always gratifying to get over 1000 more wp then the rest of your teammates, knowing that not only did you help keep them alive, but you were also able to fight back and take some of the enemy's clones away. Keep up the good work (but I really hope your not one of those "logis" who go around picking everyone up, regardless if they are in a hot zone just for WP). |

There is no extra HP. There is the extra slots that can give you extra HP. True I can get over 1000 EHP on my logi suit but that slows me down by 30%. The extra HP is not worth it. I will switch back to a shield heavy category after the wipe.
The tanking however does help with my lasers and MD. I can literally stand in the middle of the map and fry everyone. But I miss my speed and agility.
The proto logi suit is by far the best suit in the game. Unfortunately its not being used wisely. Slap on a balac or a krin on that proto logi and there is a killing machie right there. With more EHP than a proto heavy proto logis should be killing machines. Not support. Waste of a suit IMHO.
Ad even if you don't want to kill using weapons, slap on some REs, Proximity Mines, Guaged Nanohives and Fused grenades and you are a walking AV/AI personal.
If you plan on going 4/3 you may as well use a SVER BPO.

The problem is your are viewing the logi through an assault lens. The beauty of the logi is that it can be played so many different ways, its not restricted to a killing machine. Someone can go 0/0 and be the most effective logi on the field. |

True. I view everything from a kill or win standpoint. If I cant win, I will kill.
True logistics potential is achieved only when there are 2 or more heavies and you atleast have a fractal repair tool to rep both heavies at the same time. Other than that most assault and scouts carry their own reppers, nanohives and nanite injectors.
Why would I even need a Logi on the field then? For droplinks you can create a starter fit, drop the droplink and then change into whatever fit you want.
The fact of the matter is logistics suits are just not suited for logistics. For example; you can use a logistics VK1 to take out an armor tank. Fit 3 different sets of proximity mines, packed av nades and a MD. Throw on some shield extenders and put a couple of speed mods. Instant tank killer. Works like a charm. How many other suits give you this advantage? The same technique can be used to have 3 sets of REs and defend 3 points by yourself.
No real need to have a Logi in the group unless its full of heavies. Sorry to say but you don't use most equipment most of the time in any case. |

Honestly I disagree, there are numerous different functions that a logi can provide which are not reliant on a heavy and this is where I am almost going to choke on my own previous words, the logi needs to be aggressive and can't just sit there repping the entire time, if they do that they are useless. The logi needs to know how to not only keep a teammate alive, but to also fend for themselves (i.e. kill, suppression fire..) and push for objectives. When I'm in an ambush, I'm not just sitting there healing I'm in the thick of the battle providing support and aggressive attack.

And ya, the logi proto suit is insanely powerful, especially where the vk.1 is essentially as fast as a scout suit. If only the heavy suit was half as powerful, maybe it would justify the cost but that is for a completely different discussion. |
