Agreed, Skirmish 1.0 was the BEST game mode. I don't understand why CCP would so obviously shoot themselves in the foot. It would be nice if a DEV could explain to us why they removed the game mode that was the most fun, as well as made the most sense for attacking and defending planets. Please CCP explain. |

I wasn't in the closed beta, but from what I've heard about it, I've always thought the old skirmish would make more sense for PC anyway because there were actually attackers and defenders, not just two attackers (which doesn't really make sense for the side that owns the district).
In any case, I'd like to see it come back, it sounds a lot better than what we currently have. |

Was removed with a shockingly bad excuse of balance. To which the correct response would have been to balance the map but as what became established as normal the nuked the idea and replaced it with something noone liked from inception.
Dust is the only game where I feel it has gone backwards as development progressed. Sure the Ie and crashes have stopped but that just having somthing run. The gameplay of dust has declined dramaticy since the trials. |

I wouldn't mind the old skirmish as long as they upped the health of the first stage null cannon's 1 tank could just rip them apart or even just swarms could kill them. It was nice preventing the enemy team from hacking those 2 if they didn't bring tank's in and never got to the second stage |

Definitely a big increase in health. They could make them hack points that could be destroyable but take a lot of hits to destroy. The attackers have to keep the points hacked long enough or have a couple tanks working on it to destroy it for their MCC to get to the second line of defense. |

I wouldnt say raise health. I'd say make them undestructible and change mecanics so both defense relay have to be hacked at the same time. (not at the same time, but be both owned by the attackers) Add a nice visual effect like a shield barrier round the outpost to give lore and explain why those defense relay actually matter.
THIS would promote actual teamplay and give a feeling of conquest. Add to that buffing A LOT health of turrets and you would get an actually very strategic game with infantry moving to take assets allowing tanks to move into position and hold the ground, people covering one objective while others try to conquer it. etc..
Skirmish 2.0 is a joke. a game mode from the 90s. |

Tbh to this day we never got a reason on why it was removed it was only implied that their was A balance issue which during my experience I never found. And they never proabaly realised that the skilled players just made sure they were defending all the time. But to notice that they would have to been paying attention to the player base at the time |

It was a tiny balance issue that could've been solved in numerous ways but wasn't. What we have now is Domination, running in circles for objectives, and redlines.
What we had before were epic battles. Even though the game ran pretty bad at the time and there were disgustingly bad spawn mechanics, I still loved Skirmish 1.0 and Craterlake, and it's the only reason I played. |
