Do you want to drive a tank? if you do. go for it, tanks are sturdy dependable platforms. if you think "i see tankers have insane KDs and get tons of kills, i want one." stick with infantry
reasons not to tank:
1.) i don't want to ever die again
2.) unfamiliar with the skill system
3.) don't know/don't care the difference between shields and armor
4.) you think a shield tank with a armor rep is a good idea
5.) you think the tank makes the pilot
6.) the fitting process confuses you
7.) just slap on more armor plates right?
8.) HA stupid swarms don't scare me i'm in a tank!
9.) small railgun turrets are a great idea!
10.) meh, i'll give my gunners MLT turrets they don't mind
11.) MLT gear is good and cheap
12.) i still want to be effective as infantry if i drive a tank
if you have thought ANY of these things tank driving may NOT be the career for you!

as long as it pays back what is owes you (in my case surviving 3 matches in my Madrugar) it's a fine death. |

Madrugar is an armor tank it has if memory serves 5 low slots. and sorry [Classified] i can say is all proto/complex under the hood |

though i can still be effective soloing, i've found that the trick to tanking with minimal/no infantry support is not to anger the other team (yes, i know it sounds strange). basically there will always be 1 or 2 dedicated AV dudes whom will go after my tank no matter what i do as "Re Warping Shooter" so wonderfully demonstrates, thank you Shooter, you may take your seat. these AV guys can be easily dealt with as they're solo. when you start pestering the redberrys (camping a CRU, killing too many in rapid succession, ect.) they all start coming in with MLT av start fits. what was a typical, expected, blas+¬ AV one man wolf pack quickly escalates to 4 or 5 man av squad intent on popping me, they overload my rep and hardeners and i pop. |
