lol... some fun matches just had some AUR gang try and take me down.. they waste about 80 AUR fits to kill 4 of my gunnlogi that are only worth 800k isk plus they used some of the prototype dropships. now I would only lost 3 if it wasn't for the bolas running into another bolas. while this was going I managed to kill another gunnlogi with a prototype compressed rail turret as well. man that was fun and they wasted a ton of AUR just trying to kill my rail tank. it was on manus where they lost the most money at and soo many dropships and lives to the redline. I lived past the gunnlogi with the compressed rail with no shields left that when they dropped the last dropship behind me and all died from the redline after throwing one AV nade killing me. wish more fights would be as fun, I like wasting peoples AUR gear that I know they'll never get that AUR back.
but back to the point, the rail tank did the most of the damage they were just lucky with timing. only thing that rails fear on manus peak is other rails, everything else is just a bit of sport. and I was solo this whole time... never solo tank its bad for your tank |

Lol, I tried a tank this morning, and got murdered by an Advanced-Class tank, because I was using Militia. I did get a couple kills in. Mostly, it was so I could destroy a supply depot so no one would AV me in my Dropship. :P |

I still use militia tanks, dropships, and LAVs, but i use advanced level modules E.G. powergrid upgrades, Power diagnostic systems, Core skills, I have a HAV Soma that has around 8500 Armor, with 1500 shield. It does pretty darn well, as good as a standard i might add. Until that is, a random swarm manages to push me into a mountain and i can't get off the wall. Then it sucks. I even have a Sica with 4400 shield, 10% resistance upgrade, 800 armor, and standard Railgun, neutron blaster and Accelerated AT-1 missile. |

I think the balance should be setup so that one infantry with a proto swarm launcher and a nano hive should be able to punish incompetence, but it should take multiple skilled AV to take down a skilled tank operator.
I get the impression currently that Swarm Launchers are a little weaker than they should be, but I have not used the Proto Swarm Launcher yet, so I am not certain of this. It is a touchy thing to balance though, as tanks are so expensive you donGÇÖt want to make them too easy to kill, while on the other hand you donGÇÖt want them to be nearly invulnerable either.
I am going to be skilling deeply into Swarm Launcher in an effort to gain a better understanding of this balance.
Oh, and if anyone is interested in training the next generation of tankers, DUST University is still looking for a qualified tank operator to run our Tank training department. |
