i did it yesterday to 3 tanks, still works beautifully with lvl 2 in granades and a militia swarm He's just trolling you Chance :P Of course flux grenades work on shield HAVs @_@ edit: ok bob, like I said in the other post you made, the trolling was slightly amusing at first, but now it's just lame. lets not go around the bush, its manus peak... really it is the map. btw if you can get a LAV past me then your going to die in the next second from the red line, any sniper tank watches the left side for just that. oh orbital move forward off of parch and roll back up there. av backup slightly pinpoint av source and kill it. rail vs rail is basically the way to do it. its the maps design that's at fault that it limits choice to counter it. |

If a heavy gets around you with proto AV grenades and a proto or officer forge gun, you're ******. He can kill you before he dies from the red line, even if you're in a well tanked sagaris. If you try to run down the hill, he can just follow you out of the red line to kill you. Usually the heavy can kill the HAV before it can go anywhere. If you do not have that, then just get some AV or something behind him, and make him drive off of the cliff. Have a guy with a forge gun waiting for the HAV to drive off of the cliff. Although HAVs can be solod, you shouldn't rely on killing one by yourself. Hopefully the next build will make it so that one infantry cannot solo a HAV. the only thing that has killed my rail tank on manus peak is other rail tanks, lot and I do mean a ton AV has tried the sneak behind the redline for the kill and have either been meet with a rail to the face or suicide from said redline, the closest one was an orbital right after an LAV meet the business end of the rail shot in a explosion. one guy that lived had just long enough to throw one flux nade before a rail to the face. proto av makes me take a second before firing back at them and its all because of the map design and the red line with them. |

Artificer Ghost wrote:At a certain point, the Sniper Tank cannot see you. I'm just pointing this out. In my Shotgun Scout suit, I ran up Sneaky-Style and tried to tell a tank to go away. He couldn't quite aim at me, and paid no atention to me when I threw Locus Grenades and shot him with a Scrambler Pistol.
Of course, I wasn't properly equipped for the situation (I still got out clean. He was nice and didn't kill me when I was leaving. Thanks buddy. :D), but using Chance's Suit might've helped me do the trick. Even if it is an Armor Tank (Which is probably is...), the Swarm Launcher can help if you bring along a Compact Nanohive. I think Compact is the right variation. Maybe Gauged though, because I know with Gauged, you can bring more in with you (3 to be exact.).
Even if your Swarm Launcher or Flux Nades doesn't do it quick enough (the Nanohives, mentioned before, are just in case it takes a while...), put a couple skill points into Damage Mods and Grenade Damage skills. Also, an Advanced-Class SL might help.
EDIT: What I mean by not quite aiming, is that I was right at the front bumper. It might just be in my personal game experiences, but Sniper Tanks don't stay far behind the red line. This one was actually dangling off a cliff to get a good shot and I was under him. If the Tank is in the hills, like this one, they usually can't afford to run you over. He would've fallen and not been able to get back up in time. this would only work if they are outside of the redline.. and hey it might of been me, I usually don't waste time on scouts with locus nades with no av equipment. |

Artificer Ghost wrote:Well thanks Ladwar. You were almost as nice as that time with the Laser Rifle against my Militia Dropsuit. :D (Sarcasm, but I appreciate no kill for my Scout...The total number of deaths I got in that game resulted in my having about 200,000 less ISK. I'm playing it right, right?) I like scouts.. but sometimes you just need to go for the kill. I did about 1.6 k/d just as a scout but man I got a ton of warpoints. tanks are my thing till all the stuff comes out. so it should be fun and I heard they remapped manus peak so that good I guess? push the mountains back some so they are not used as safe rail tank spots. |

Artificer Ghost wrote:I once pit myself against a team with 3 Sniper Tanks. It was kind of funny, because for a bunch of guys in tanks, they didn't have enough balls to come and hack anything. In the end, I was at Objective C and 2 Tanks came in, but I exploded one with my Mass Driver before using my REs to kill the pilot trying to hack the objective. Then the game ended even before his Death Message popped up. tank driver never want to get out of their tanks... why- blueberries. we wish we had a ejecting button because the small turret guns never like getting out to hack objects and that bugs me. if I have it covered with the main gun you are fine to go and hack it there no point in staring at it like its going to hack itself back to our side and thus why blasters are becoming less used. the GET THE H*** OUT AND DO SOMETHING button isn't there. would be helpful AV personal, hacking, troop deployment, saving warpoints from people dying inside. I don't fault the driver for not wanting to get out, the small turret gunners I have no love for. and try and avoid picking them up as they are annoying and a weakness more then they could help out thus why people want to remove them all together and have only the main gun. |

lol... some fun matches just had some AUR gang try and take me down.. they waste about 80 AUR fits to kill 4 of my gunnlogi that are only worth 800k isk plus they used some of the prototype dropships. now I would only lost 3 if it wasn't for the bolas running into another bolas. while this was going I managed to kill another gunnlogi with a prototype compressed rail turret as well. man that was fun and they wasted a ton of AUR just trying to kill my rail tank. it was on manus where they lost the most money at and soo many dropships and lives to the redline. I lived past the gunnlogi with the compressed rail with no shields left that when they dropped the last dropship behind me and all died from the redline after throwing one AV nade killing me. wish more fights would be as fun, I like wasting peoples AUR gear that I know they'll never get that AUR back.
but back to the point, the rail tank did the most of the damage they were just lucky with timing. only thing that rails fear on manus peak is other rails, everything else is just a bit of sport. and I was solo this whole time... never solo tank its bad for your tank |
