I'm sitting at work and had a coworker talk about Dust and how he keeps getting ROFLstomped. It reminded me of when I got my first Advanced/Prototype weapon and the immense joy of no longer having to shoot people 500x with the militia AR for them to die.
It was love at first sight.
What was your first protoweapon and how awesome was your first time? |

lol still no proto weapons, i just have 3 weapons at lv3 and all othe others with the exception of snipers/shotguns at lv1/lv2 |

Still no proto weapons, and I still use militia ARs. And still go positive KDR. Sometimes I switch to the GEK, but I like saving money. |

it was the assault smg proto. it was like holding a vipera again. like coming home. |

I have access to the proto MD but I've yet to use it. But the best feeling I've gotten was my first 1 shot kill (it was a direct hit and completely obliterated the red dot), it was an amazing feeling knowing I had just gotten a perfect hit and I've been hooked ever since. In fact, I've been working hard at getting direct hits on every shot and it feels so good when I do that. I can only imagine what it will be like when I switch to the Freedom MD.
I want to amend the OP question by adding, what was your greatest kill? Or at least, what was the kill that gave you the most pleasure, causing you to pursue constant perfection? |

I started out using the Miltia AR, I seemed to always get into prototype matches were one side had like 10 guys with 17/0 kills. I would constantly get slaughtered. I would aim and start firing and they wouldn't die. Just hosing bullets at them and nothing. I remember emptying a clip on a guy (Probably missed a little bit) and he was low, but not dead.
Then I got my first advanced weapon. The Gek. Then I started to saw people in half. Having fought hard to kill people with the MAR when I got my hands on the GEK I started to dominate everyone in my way. I was happy I could even start taking down all the prototype players and with the GEK in hand I went from like .4 K/D back up to 1.0 and beyond. It really was love at first sight. |

I'm guessing most people who look at nanohives skill enough to get the compact or gauged nanohives and give the rest little more than a passing glance, sneering at their pricetag or fitting requirements when the gauged gets the job done cheaply and effectively. It's what I did at first, anyways.
One day I decided on a whim (this upcoming skill respec is really going to help out my kittened up skill sheet) that I should round out my logi skills a bit more and unlock the advanced nanohives.
When I first threw down a K17D (R) nanohive and saw the constant +10 resupply AND +25 triage ticks that never seemed to end, I knew what I had to do. I spent all the isk I had on more, made it a part of almost every fitting. I even made a logi suit fit with three of the things so that I could shove them into every corner of the map. My teammates won't be able to take a dump without giving me a resupply tick, and possibly a triage tick.
It is my favorite equipment and i will love it forever |

Both. My papa was very creative. Being a military psychologist who saw live combat he was pretty good at getting into people's heads. He could **** anyone up! And boy did he come up with the most creative ways to punish me. Ever been hit by a wet towel? Leaves no marks but stings like a *****  !

My first proto was a forge gun. It was love at first use. You see kids... Tanks were OP at the time.... And my forge gun was just enough to kill most of them... |

my first time I got so excited i just starting spraying everywhere. I knew that I should slow down and pace myself but it just felt so good, so I just kept spraying until my magazine was spent. |

I still remember this summer when I first installed some advenced accelerated missiles launchers on my Dropship..
these where the good old times my firends..
My gunner had like 40/0
and I could be on the top of the board with no kills :-P

Yeah, proto missiles were my first. We could drift slowly over the battlefield and the assists kept flashing on my screen so regularly it was like a heartbeat. Those were the days... |
