Given the extremely close quarters setup of most Ambush maps combined with the severe dearth of spawn points, precision strikes are vastly overpowered when considered in this setting. I don't see how they make sense to use here.
It's too easy to spawncamp using one or more of those and quickly kill the other team before they even get a chance to retaliate. |

LOL why....... Get your squad to get 2500 Wp and call one in if sick of others doing it to you. |

Isn't there an Ambush and Ambush OMS?
I'm not sure you knew this or not, but the one without OMS doesn't have Precision Strikes. |

I don't know what game you're playing but I call Orbitals all the time in classic ambush. The difference is bringing a squad, and using squad objectives to boost WP gains. |

Maybe I am hallucinating or really lucky then because I have never seen an orbital in a nonOMS skirmish |

Umm, stop grouping up like someone is giving away free candy and OBs would be less effective in Ambush matches. Besides, if another team is able to gain 2500 WP fast enough in a non-OMS ambush then you are pretty much sucking already. |

But I like free candy. When I was a kid there was a guy with a van that had a sign that said free candy. I didn't go with that guy because I had to go home. I always felt I missed out that day. |

Not necessarily. Good logi players can rack up the WP faster than all get out. Hell, I play logistics in ambush when I'm capped out for the week because its pretty easy to rack up those thousand WP |

Orbital strikes are a good way to END THE MATCH FASTER. most of the time they arrive at the point in the match where I gave up the idea of wining and I am only glad this will end the match faster. |

It still takes a half decent team to be able to get to 2500 fast enough in a non-OMS match.
Also, that is not my main point. Having an entire team lumped together circle-jerking each other is just asking for an OB. |

Maybe it's just me but orbital strikes are happening in both OMS and non-OMS matches. What exactly is the difference? |

Thats because its harder to gather 2.5k wp without the structures to hack.

Had an Ambush game the other day where my squad earned a Precision Strike, but our SL couldn't call it in. Got told "No Assets Available.
I would have suspected that this was true based on that experience, except that someone else called a Precision Strike in during the same match.
I've seen (and called in) enough Precision Strikes in Ambush (not OMS) to be 100% certain without a doubt that it's possible. Except that sometimes it decides not to let you do it. |

Zira Soong wrote:Maybe it's just me but orbital strikes are happening in both OMS and non-OMS matches. What exactly is the difference? The difference between OMS matches and non-OMS matches is the 'Off Map Support'. For some reason, orbitals are in both, but there are turrets, supply depots, and CRUs in OMS. Sometimes there's a supply depot and/or CRU in classic ambush, but there are a lot more in OMS. They also appear throughout the match in OMS.
hahaha hahaha wrote:how can I buy precision strike??? You need 2500 WP across your squad in a single match. You can't 'buy' it, as such. |
