Doesn't the forge fire railgun type weaponry? It seems like the weapons range is very limited. frequently now there are occurences where rail tanks can park on the edges of the map out of the range of AV weaponry and fire away. shouldnt RAIL weapons have roughly the same range as the tanks?
its unbalanced at the core to have counters that lack the ability of the gameplay mechanic they are supposed to bring evenness to. while no one wants people sniping with forge guns from 200m, maybe they can have a vehicle lock on feature on stationary targets. |

Railguns are huge and cost hundreds of thousands ISK; forge guns are small and don't cost nearly as much as well as doing more damage. The range difference is 100m. That is more than fair. |

I would argue it's too long as it is. It's basically an AV sniper rifle, hitting near-instantly from across the map. I've seen people use it for counter-sniping! |

They cost just as much, and have a lower rate of fire. Forge Guns are supposed to be long range. Also, Railguns have a potential to do more damage whereas Forge Guns do not. |

I used a MLT forge and sniped a Turret Installation. Did the same damage (or close to it) as a basic large Railgun. I was pretty far off too.
Firstly, why are you even complaining when you have the ability to hold something that does upwards of more damage than Large Railguns?
Secondly, take a look at the barrel on the Large Railguns and compare that to the length of your Forge Gun. See the difference? |

Nope. My adv railgun costs 150k, whereas adv forge guns don't even cost half as much. Damage output for both weapons is roughly the same when you count in heating of the rail gun, preventing it from firing faster than a forge gun. |

Secondly, take a look at the barrel on the Large Railguns and compare that to the length of your Forge Gun. See the difference? It doesn't do that damage in a self sustainable fashion, while railguns have infinite ammo and much more accuracy. Also each forge and railgun round does kinetic yet somehow the forge's kinetic energy doesn't hold. |

Funny how the forge gun blast just 'ends' in front of me while I'm doing rail tank sniping.
I'm up for longer range but diminishing damage at longer ranges. |

My complaint is that they don't share a range currently The cost of having a portable Railgun without a vehicle is shorter range and charge up. That's how it works in my mind. |
