The Minmatar Anti-Materiel Rifle is a high-powered bolt-action rifle that shoots high caliber explosive-tipped bullets at high velocities. Although initially intended for use on enemy materiel, it was later found to be incredibly effective against the well armored dropsuits of clone soldiers and soon became used against heavily armored infantry. The incendiary nature of the explosive bullet causes the bullet to both overheat the weapon and act as a tracer round, leaving a trail of smoke straight back to your position temporarily. It requires reloading every shot, and produces heat, but can take down many dropsuits in one hit. The weight of the weapon makes it more difficult to properly aim while on the go, but it has incredible alpha damage.
It didn't get the name "Anti-Materiel Rifle" for nothing. It does additional damage against vehicles, and can target specific parts of the vehicle to damage. LAVs and Dropships take 50% damage from the Anti-Materiel Rifle normally, and HAVs take only 32.5% damage, but if you hit a specific part you can deal additional damage and reduce the vehicle's capability.
Engine Compartment (LAV): 150% Damage. Wheels (LAV): temporarily reduces acceleration, top speed and agility. Thruster (Dropship): 200% Damage, temporarily reduces thrust. Back of Main Turret (HAV): 75% Damage. Barrel of Turret (HAV): temporarily reduces accuracy and produces a massive amount of heat. Turret (Small Turret): disables the turret with heat.
Damage - 325 HP Max Ammo - 16 Rounds Clip Size - 1 Round Reload Time - 2.0 Seconds Heat Build-Up Per Shot - 50% Cooldown - 10.0 Seconds Seize Duration - 10.0 Seconds
Advantages over the Sniper Rifle
- Increased alpha damage.
- Increased damage against vehicles.
- Insta-kills on headshot.
- Increased damage against armor.
Disadvantages over the Sniper Rifle
- Damage falloff at long ranges.
- Single-round clip sizes and heat production limit rate of fire.
- Increased scope sway while moving and standing.
- Decreased damage against shields.
Role of the Marksman Rifle
- The Anti-Materiel Rifle plays a Sniper Role, with reduced target acquisition but improved alpha damage.
- The Anti-Materiel can disable or destroy vehicles.
- The Marksman has a better chance of surviving direct contact with the enemy.
Variants
- Breach - Improved AV capabilities and damage, but increased scope sway and decreased reload speed.
- Tactical - Fires a Titanium Sabot, foregoing AV capabilities for lower heat production and faster reloading.

I like the idea but change i would change the name, Anti - material feels too much like antimatter, and minmatars don't use antimatter. |

For the OP - every sniper would switch to this. One shot clip sizes and low ammo doesn't matter if you only need one shot to kill infantry and you're sitting in a nanohive. I like the idea of it being able to affect vehicles depending on where you hit them, but it's too effective at infantry killing if it has higher alpha than a standard sniper. Some people already one-shot with their snipers, making it all of them do that would turn dust into a snipefest. |

I like the idea but I think its base damage is simply too high. Lowering the damage would be necessary. Alternatively, making it overheat every shot and lowering the cooldown time to say 6s would make it somewhat more balanced, since most people won't have the patience to actually wait for it to cool down if it has to cool down every shot. It should probably draw a large amount of CPU and relatively small amount from the powergrid, since it is a chemically accelerated weapon and not an EM weapon |

Tactical Sniper Rifles can fire twice in one second, and it generally kills standard infantry, and Charge Sniper Rifles are also generally OHK weapons if you let them charge. The fact that you only get one shot means it is much less forgiving if you miss that one shot. |

Yes! +1
I actually made a thread where I wanted to make all breach weapons (except the MD and Forge) have a damage multiplier against vehicles. I would link it, but it is to hard to do on a phone lol |

+1 i actually like this idea but it needs more details like normal damage % vs vehicles shields, vs vehicles armor, more detail on the heat systems, as 1 shot every 2 seconds would cause with the normal heat system to never over heat. light or heavy weapon? lead or no leading targets(rail vs sniper rifle) heat shot %. this being a AV sniper rifle doesn't fair in the damage area for if all 16 rounds hit an HAV with no harderens on it would only do 3510 damage over ~32 seconds barely enought to kill a pure stock fit militia hav. |

Just because it is Anti-Vehicle doesn't mean it is Anti-HAV. It isn't supposed to kill HAVs outright, it is supposed to harass them. Harassment is actually very effective against HAVs because they are a lot of work to use, believe it or not. You have to activate modules (an unnecessarily complicated process), maneuver (easier said than done in a HAV) and shoot (which requires focus because of how precise and slow Large Turrets are). |

ladwar wrote: lead or no leading targets(rail vs sniper rifle). Well, it's the Minmatar take on the Sniper Rifle, so no, it is hitscan like the Sniper Rifle.
ladwar wrote:light or heavy weapon? Did you even read the title?
ladwar wrote:this being a AV sniper rifle doesn't fair in the damage area. Used correctly, it can deal 650 damage to a light vehicle such as the LAV or the Dropship, which makes it half as powerful as a Forge Gun with improved accuracy, improved range and improved precision. |

Could definitely be balanced if the damaged is toned down a bit, an automatic AV weapon certainly sounds more interesting to me. |
