In the last few weeks I noticed that explosive damage has been buffed and Flux 'nades deal next to no damage at all.
Why? shields are good as they are they are many reasons to shield tank when the armor only has 2-3 reasons.
Let people decide how they want to play CCP don't force players to use something they don't like by utterly bulls***ing the other. |

I'm a bit confused that you think flux 'nades do little damage, the standard ones do 1200 points, which is hardly small. I think the preponderance of shield-tankers is due to the fact that the only available assault suit is Caldari-made. Once the new rracial suits are available, there should be more variety; although the speed penalty on armor plates should be made proportionate to the speed of the dropsuit. |

I think CCP stealth nerfed Flux nades to be affected by resistances, because it doesn't work as well anymore. |

They always have and they always will, because they know what armor is capable of, the players just fail to live up to their expectations, think of it this way ultimate evil and ultimate good in the eve universe are both armor tankers, good lite and evil lite are both shield tankers. |

If they loved sheild tanking so much on suits they would make damage mods in low slots like the rest of eve :) |

I did wonder why it's not this way. Because I would love to have my rifter with all damage and speed mods. |

We are also more resistant to the most over used weapon in the game. And it is quite funny when someone throws a flux at me. |

Armor is better than shield IMO Armor is desinged to be a team based tanking method, 1 armor suit + a logibro + 2 armor nanohives and that person will never drop, except if you alpha high enough |

I personally hate shield-tanking in Dust (shield suits just don't work for me); even when I don't have a logi repping me my armor always lasts a lot longer than my shield. So, yeah...armor-tanking FTW. (BTW, my shield skills are good, so that's not the problem)
I do think the resistances are working in Dust...the problem is, we can't see what our resistances are, nor what damage types everything is doing (we can guess accurately for some [flux and AV grenades especially], but most is going to be iffy [can guess some, but not exactly what the damage is]). Once we get the resistances stated on suits and vehicles, and damage type for weapons (and get ammo) I think things will be a lot better...oh, and adding resistance mods too. We need those. |

Armor is a wee bit more resistant to most stuff. Until we get the scrambler rifle, which does 120% damage to armor. |

Anyway, about the math: A proto logibro can reapir 44 armor HP/s. I am not sure how much armor nanohives repair, but I doubt its more than 44 HP/s, so lets add 88 HP/s. That's a total of 132 HP/s. Not bad. However, even the Militia AR, without any skills or damage mods, does 392.5 DPS. Not quite indestructible, especially with two AR's. Plus if it takes two armor rep nanohives + a logibro to make armor tanking worth considering then you're doing something wrong with the balancing. AND just wait until we have shield transfers for infantry. |
