several time tonight (5 to be precise) whenever i joined a squad and jumped into a game my console would freeze, prompting me to have to restart the damn thing. However when I ran a couple of games solo I encountered no problems at all. There was no order to these things, I could run a couple of solo games then jump into a squad and I would freeze the first match we played. |

First thing that pops into my head is how many chats to you have open and, obviously, have you opened some new ones tonight?
That seems to cause some problems in the past although yours seems to be a new problem as I do not recall having seen it before. Reducing the number of chats or the ones that have large member counts would be worth a try.
Let us know if there is something new or if shutting down Chats (or bowing to the shadow of the second Moon) has any effect, negative or positive. |

have about 6 to 7 chats none of then new tonight, i've been playing fine with that number of chats for the last week, and i though something similar originally because the first few times it froze i had chat open, but the rest of the times chat had been closed for at least a minute. |

would suggest keeping them closed longer
game does not like open chat channels when in a match  |

I tend to close them just before we're deoyed if theirs a conversation on, but in the last 3 cases chat was off. it's the fact it only happened when I was in a squad that confuses me, as I said in the op, the only thing that changed between the games that worked and those that froze is that the ones that froze did so when I was in a squad. |

never had that specific problem happen.
worst i've gotten is black screne when in a squad, and we just leave the match and try again |

I've never had it before either, it just decided to play up tonight. Anyway I'll update the thread if this persists over the next couple of days. |

Do you recall what type of channel it was?
EVE, DUST, combined, voice, text only?
There must be something going on because closing chat channels seems to consistently fix this problem. |

most of my channels are dust ones, although some like the alliance and corp public channels have both types of player. only real channels i use voice on are squad or corp. |

Thanks for the reply. Maybe that can give the Devs enough information to find the problem.
I had several chats open with this Character. There were some problems so I closed several of them and the problems went away. Then, after reinstalling DUST I got all my channels back. Yet, I haven't had any freezing problems. Definitely an interesting bug. An interesting bug is a Kitten Eating Bug that I don't have to fix, BTW. |

Ill have to try what you said, because I've had the same problem. The game has frozen multiple times and I've even deleted and re-installed the game yet it still persists. I will try out your suggestion and see what happens. |
