Scrambler pistols if you have good aim and don't stress in CQC, use SMG otherwise.
this. except for the scout. scouts are a lot of fun but sooooooo weak in the short game, you will have to be about 5mil SP in before its even useful. scouts are based around harassment not kills. they can fight clear through a major battle given enough distraction but you lose the majority of their HP the second some one looks at you, but nothing keeps an enemy team better occupied then a well played scout.
logi is only good for support, its slow speeds and heavy like hit box make it a liability in combat, on the bright side logis scale almost as well as scouts given that they have the largest number of highs and lows. this also makes logis some of the best players in the game, all things equal I would rather fight a proto assault then a std logi. in higher levels the logi can provide support and support fire under some pretty heavy fire.
both are very SP intensive and both are horrible in 1 on 1 combat, if you are a good player you can pull out a 1 on 1victory with them where you could with any other suit, but they will not survive fights where you are out numbered(scouts do have the advantage of allowing you to kite a many on one into many 1on1s).
if you play well with others I would go logi, if you like to flank or lone wolf scout. |

yea in CQC the pistol can be hard to work and its not good for assaulting, it only good as a back up defensive weapon really. a reallly really deadly defensive weapon.
oh yea smgs are really mediocre untill you skill into them but dear god they melt things once you do skill them, they are no ARs but a skilled player can make an AR think twice at almost any range. |

OH right why haven't I been logging in for 2 months... hmmmm Because Zion isn't as fun as it used to be As a fatty I rarely die to pistols. Takes a skilled player to pull it off properly even with fast reloads. SMG on the other hand - any scrub can pick that up and pray and spray me down and my large hitbox. I would assume SMG aren't effective against scouts and not nearly against assaults, so that would sway many to think pistols > smg. but it's not. DPS value of SMG is much higher.
IMHO SMGs are the only way to take out scouts they can't dodge between shots, really once skilled into SMGs are good for every thing but shield heavies and assaults. SMGs suck against shields. |
