One of the big problems that i'm sure everyone has noticed is when people go to use the injector to pickup a downed teammate, they're out in the open and immediately get downed again without a chance to even move. This is especially frustrating when you get downed right next to cover, where literally the Logi is behind cover reviving you, and you're out in the open.
For these situations i'd like an ability to drag a downed teammate behind cover to make it safe to revive them. Obviously this will come with consequences while doing it, including:
1) animation to grab the teammate 2) No weapon 3) slower movement speed (perhaps if multiple people can drag, it can be done at a faster pace?) 4) animation to drop teammate and rearm.
This will make it difficult to get a teammate killed out in the open behind cover (while making the logi completely vulnerable), while making it perhaps possible to get teammates close to cover into a safe area for a revive.
Anyone perhaps have any other suggestions to improve on this?

+1 to something that solves this stupid problem. Either dragging or a temporary invulnerability when spawning/being revived that lasts 1.5 seconds or until a weapon is aimed/fired. |

Doesn't matter, if i'm zeroed in on him as a sniper, as soon as he pops up i'm taking his head off again with a bullet. more hp doesn't always mean survival unfortunately. |

As a dedicated Logi, I can say without doubt this is a dumb idea.
It is extremely contextual. For the amount of effort CCP would need to put in for this to work, I can think of only one situation out of thirty that I would actually consider using it.
If you're reviving people and they're dying, consider trying to clear the area of enemies first. That's medic 101. Don't rezz someone until you know they'll stay up. |

It actually isn't nessecary. If they are doing deployable shield domes, all you gotta do is chuck one down on your fallen friend and then you can rez them with no problem. |

I think the movement speed reduction should decrease as the size of your suit increases. Scouts get like a 50% movement speed reduction, assault a 25% movement speed redux, heavies get 0-10%. Generally the idea is that the more robust suits have more power at the cost of speed, so it'd make sense a heavy could easily lift a body. |

While I like the idea of being able to drag or use a tractor beam, all this is going to do is give the D-bag sniper 2 free kills instead of one. Moving that slow will only work if you're near cover, or if you can throw the deploy-able shield in time. D-bag snipers are like Chuck Norris, they don't sleep, they wait... |

I think that it is a good idea, but I agree on the problem. What if there were smoke grenades to cover an area, where you might have a chance to drag someone back to a covered area? |

The deployable shield is definitely a plus and hopefully logi's actually carry them and utilize them to pick people up. I've actually parked my tank in dangerous areas multiple times to provide cover for logis, so having gear that can do this will save me the damage :P
And as for the "clear the area" argument, sometimes the area seems clear and they try to pick the person up. I'm not gunna lie, if i'm sniping and I see a logi going to rez someone, I don't shoot until they've picked them up for two easy kills. So it's very easy for an area to seem safe to pick someone up when it in fact isn't.
And it actually shouldn't be that hard to code dragging someone into the game. Picking up objects, pushing/dragging things are a staple of games. Hell, there are a lot of games where you have to pick up/put down characters. When a soldier gets downed, they virtually become just a piece of the game (unless they're rez'd and regain control). I honestly hate the argument that "it's so much work" for a game developer, particularly when it's actually quite a simple feature that has been around for years (modified, but the basic code for it is easily already created). |

I wish a sniper bullet would automatically ricochet off of the shield and kill the sniper in this scenario.
I would pay $20/month just for this feature. |
