Hey guys, this is the CEO of Sardaukar Merc Guild [SMERG], Executor corp of General Tso's Alliance <3XXXD>.
I'm not absolutely positive if I'll be able to make it to the meeting on Saturday, but I'll try my best. For those wanting to know more about me from the horse's mouth, here's a diatribe, haha:
A brief description of my Corp and Alliance: We formed SMERG in 2007, me and bunch of guys from my unit. They talked me into playing EVE (despite my dislike for RPGs) and I've been hooked ever since. I've dabbled in just about everything there is to do in the game and have decided that low-sec living/piracy is the life for me.
We formed an Alliance with a bunch of corps we operated with in a lowsec system called Seyllin.
What I can offer: Currently I average between 10-20 Dust guys that are logged in especially around EST primetime (2200-0300 GMT/EVETime). I've been inviting a lot of my more active (and mic-owning) members into the FSC channel and they love running squads with whoever will join.
What I plan on bringing to the table: CCP hasn't made any estimates as to when production/industry will be added to Dust, or how it will be done, but I do have a couple industry-dedicated corps in General Tso's (Ghost Core, Spacepixels in Space) and most of my most experienced members (including myself) have alts that are maxed out with various industry skills. This means I will be able to manufacture the items needed when the time finally comes.
Short Term: I want to be a player in Planetary Conquest, even if we get ROFLstomped by a PRO zerg rush. SMERG Dust guys are doing a good job at growing our corp wallet so we'll at least attempt to put a stake down on a district somewhere. We'll bring along any of you that are interested into our corp battles, with preference of course going to General Tso's members.
Long Term: While CCP plan on having Dust affect nullsec someday, it appears the next stage after Uprising's initial launch will be opening up all of non-Factional Warfarelowsec for planetary conquest, and that includes my home system of Seyllin. I will fight tooth and nail for the two Temperate planets in my system, and once we have them on lockdown, I plan on branching into neighboring systems like locust.
If any of your corporations are looking to join General Tso's Alliance, the easiest thing is have your CEO create a 14-day EVE trial, train him to corporation management (as xLT was saying) then have him apply. I honestly have no clue if you can or how you would apply from the Dust client. I can move an alt character into your corp to do it for you if you are comfortable with that idea. (Personally, this is the EVE universe and trusting a stranger usually is a bad thing, so I won't force this option on anyone, its just on the table).
If you have any other questions, hit me up in the FSC channel or mail my EVE Character: Burseg Sardaukar

SMERG - active EVE corp since 2007.
You can actually use dotlan and evewho to see if any corps have EVE characters.
If you search for a corporation that is a Dust-only corp, they won't show up on either Dotlan or evewho.
Alternatively, if you search a corp on evewho and on dotlan, you can subtract evewho from dotlan to get the total number of dust members in that corp (or alliance). |

The FSC, in EVE terms, is a coalition. An Alliance is an in-game structure that corporations apply to join and share chat channels and standings and wars. A coalition is more of an agreement between entities that they were be friends, not shoot each other, not invade each other's space, not screw with each other's markets, etc.
As far as member count, there's really no easy way to tell if FSC has the most or not. It can be done manually from the EVE/Dust client by looking up all the corps you have listed here and summing all their members, but activity plays a role in that. I have over 150 Dust guys in my corp, but I think only 1/4 of that or so is active on a weekly basis. I think just about all the members (aside from SMERG) are 100% Dust corps, which is impressive that you guys are coordinating this without the much-easier-to-work-with EVE client.
I wasn't trying to poach from FSC into General Tso's, I consider General Tso's Alliance (with SMERG corporation at the helm) a part of FSC. My offer was more towards having an actual in-game Alliance structure for any of the corps interested in it. When Uprising launches, CCP has said there will be more support for Alliances, including Dust-side Alliance chat, and the districts being owned will count as part of the Alliance for the EVE-bonuses. |

If he can, just have him set up a channel and send invites in the FSC channel. I'll tell everyone before the meeting that's in the channel to type 1 if they want an invite to the meeting.
Will do. He's a busy dude these days but has Saturday night off. He's been in Tso's since its founding, and he's my only director (just so happens he's my brother as well, lol), and tends to be on when I'm not with his crazy work schedule. |

I'll try my best to be on tonight, but I'm heading out of town until Sunday. So worst-case scenario I can do it then.
I trained up 2 alt characters to Corporation Management so I'll be able to apply 2 corps a day to the Alliance (dropping roles and moving to a new corp requires a 24 hours cool down). I'll see what I can do about getting other alts set up for it if the demand starts getting high. All are welcome and I'll help whoever I can.
Edit: Currently the EVE alts are: Huffington Knobgobbler and Blutarch Mann Don't trust anyone else that claims to be me, lol. EVE paranoia just hit me and I figured I should probably post this. |

Will do, as soon as I can.
I wrote a sort-of-lengthy blog about the whole PC system and meeting you guys. At the end there's is a bit of FAQ stuff I could think of off the top of my head. Hopefully Rectanus will be able to answer other questions you guys might have, but if you want to, feel free to post any on the blog or here, and I'll do my best to make sure all concerns are addressed. |

Also, there is the option to enter your corp into my EVE Alliance. As you can see from this channel there are a couple corps that have already joined up. I can help with the application process on an alt if you can't get an EVE Trial.
I'll be on tonight around 2300 or so EVEtime (GMT) in the FSC channel.
From what I understand there will be Alliance chat and mail system implemented with Uprising that will further facilitate small corps banding together under a single banner. |

I'm absolutely down.
The only downside is that PC will be twice the size. But it can't hurt.
EDIT: ALSO!! You can't drag "neutrals" into corp battles currently. There has to be 8 people on 2 corporations each. |

I've honestly never tested it, but every battle I've ever been in has been 8 of SMERG vs 8 of one corp. The dev blog explaining PC implied that it currently isn't possible to bring in "ringers," and a bunch of discussion on the forums implies the same.
I'm all for testing it, though. |

Same here. Motivating stuff.
ShwerShwerShwer wrote: Edit: btw burseg we screwed up the corp battle system. One corp accepts a contract and then the other corp accepts the opposing contract and it will have the first corps name beside it.
Yea, I grabbed the defense contract after you snagged the attack one. We did it right. I'm just excited that ringers can enter into the matches. It could make for some fun-ass corp battles.
I think the drawback of getting my guys moitvated for the current interation of the Corp Battles is because there's not SP reward for doing them, so that kind of sucks. But I love them, personally.
ShwerShwerShwer wrote: Edit 2: also let's go ahead and figure out sides tomorrow for the battle Friday so we can have 8 v 8
I'm not 100% if I can make it Friday night, but I can Saturday. If Rectanus is on he can accept contracts for SMERG, otherwise you guys will have to grab them for your corps and just bring in ringers from us. |

WRT Faction Warfare, I have an alt character currently in the Caldari Militia that should be able to provide bombardments when needed. It's a small perk, but not hugely important, they are mostly like Precision Strikes on crack.
If we decide on a faction you'd rather support, try to keep it between Gallente and Caldari because my corporation lives on the border between the two areas of space and would make life easier if they open up bombardments to corps and not just militias. |

I'm working on getting COSMIC CHAOS 420 into our coalition and have them apply to Tso's. They are over 100 strong and were really awesome dudes to corp battle against. They also have group of small corporations they are friends with, so merging them across would be awesome as well. |

If it's absolutely necessary for you, I'll reconsider the idea and work out the options.
But yeah. You can consider us full board.
I haven't heard anything from CCP as far as allowing Dust CEO's to apply to Alliances with Uprising, but since they seem to be determined to supporting Alliance aspects, I can't imagine they'd leave out the ability to join an Alliance.
I personally don't care if you join Tso's, as you said, the benefits are very limited currently. The only thing that is beneficial to joining early is avoidance of a possible massive spike of corps who want to join come Uprising. I only have 2 alts to help corps with, and they have 24 hour cool downs between each application, so I hope CCP allows Dust CEO's to apply to Alliances or those corps will have EVE characters they can temporarily set to CEO.
edit: it's also not the case that there aren't a bunch of EVE with alts in SMERG that can help, but I don't even trust them with roles to my own corp, so I wouldn't expect any other corp to trust them either, lol. |

Tried recruiting but again one wants to go to a small corp, is anyone else in the same boat? i thinking a merging even if it means losing my corp.
I've only had one guy leave SMERG that I wish hadn't, and that happened really early on, no bad blood though.
There's prob been about 10 or so that have left in total, and only half went on to "bigger" corps, the rest joined IRL friends or formed single man corps (that I assume died by now). I had one member that was playing games by leaving and rejoining claiming it was an "accident," but he was a toxic member anyway, trying to get poach my guys, so I told him to go f*ck himself. He hasn't bothered my guys since.
I can relate to starting out small on the Dust-side, we've all been there; but I'm not sure if my recruitment success is tied to being an established EVE corp of 6+ years or having large (mostly EVE at first) numbers. I'll have to poll my guys.
I try to recruit in every single match. Even if its just 1 mail to an NPC corp member, you got to keep pushing. Some dudes will tell you to get bent, you'll get a ton of blank replies because the mail system is ********, and you'll recruit dudes that are just starting the game and will never log in again. Don't let it get you down, man.
Also, worst-case scenario, you can always merge with an existing corp. I'll take you into SMERG if you wish, but I think its beneficial to the 100% Dust corps if you merge with them, to help bolster their numbers, which, in turn, will solve the low player count situation.

A great many of the FSC corps are within General Tso's Alliance. There are a couple that haven't made the leap (yet) and there's no pressure to join. They like doing their own thing, or they don't like me :(
In EVE, everyone knows of the HBC and CFC even without an in-game moniker to bind them, hopefully we have gained (or will gain) that through time. |

Thx for the offer m8, good to see we are catching the eyes of the notorious Alliances.
As ragtag as we might seem, we generally have a ton of squads rolling, especially during US TZ. While not all member corps in the FSC are in General Tso's, the alliance just topped 800 members combined across both Dust and EVE this weekend, with applications still rolling in.
