If you are looking for ~10 corps 50 mil buy in is about right IMO. To corps not in the top 10 or so the entry fee is basically an accepted loss on top of the match losses. Since they are already not that big or powerful giving 50-100 mil to their predators is a pretty silly move tbh.
I know you already ran a free tourney, seems like the goal of this one is to increase the stakes and the price is about right for that.
Also without random seeding all the new smaller corps that might be willing to front the money would certainly have 0 interest if they know they have to 100% play imps or pfbhz first round. |

If you want to up the stakes have a minimum corp contract in place and not an entrance fee of 50-100 million isk.
Set a bar of say 5-10 million isk contract per game which has to be screen shotted to validate a math between the corps participating.
Lower the isk entry fee to 10 million and use the total as a winner take all price for the corp or seed it to the top 4 corps. That way corps who win matches get something back even if they didn't reach that high and those who go up the ladder already earns something from the tourney. That's a better incentive than putting 50-100 isk entrance fee with a 50-50 chance to not get any isk back. |

Kain, I JL3Eleven from PFBHz will offer a Gamestop Merc. Pack to whomever does the worst in any match throughout the tourney. It will be based on KD/R with the tie breaker being lowest WP. Pics must be provided to qualify.
It will be called the Please Try Harder Award.
I will send the code after tourney is completed to the winner following confirmation from Kain. |

I think we'll avoid any tournament until servers for US\EU battles are actually stable. Last fights we did were complete drag and if already frustrating for a 2 M BC, i let you imagine how mad we would be for a way higher buy-in.
Anyway, keep up the good work. Those tournament are fun, even if just to watch. |

This system is amazingly good for the smaller guys, but its not very favorable to the top placing corps. Losing in the finals if its a high stakes match might leave you at an isk loss even if you won all the lower stake matches up to that point. |

Make it into 2 separate groups, lower tier and higher tier corps. Lower tier will face each other in their own bracket, winner of that bracket will play the higher tier bracket winners. 2nd place of both brackets will face each other to determine 3rd and 4th place. Gives the lower tiers more a chance without them getting stomped by a higher tier corp straight off the bat, also gives them chance to make a name for themselves which can be worth quite a bit in this game. |

TBH the point of any tournament is competition last tournament barely had enough teams....infact it DIDNT have enough teams as teams had to get byes for the bracket to work out and that was a FREE entry tourney.
The timing of this tourney + the wanting of an entrance fee will prob turn ppl off especially when ppl didnt even sign up for a free one.
I'd Love to do it but yeaaa im sick of this build like everyone else and PC around the corner |

there are smaller corps who can probably compete to an extent. Just because you guys have 100-1500 members does not constitute you to being a top tier. Just in size would consider you that. I have seen good stand-alone players in game who are impressive and some folks in lfsquad and even local chat. I do however like the idea of having a top tier and low tier bracket. It does appeal to both ends and its a compromise that can easily be reached. Only thing top tier teams will lose in a loss to a low tier team is some ego. |

Here's a thought. What about tiered buy-ins based on corp size with the buy in getting larger the bigger the corp?

Kain I personally think this should be pushed back to right after the newbuild and repects to everyone. Would make it pretty intresting to see what people bring to the table with the new tools out there too them. They would also be able to run 16 vs 16 man battles then. Right now people know what to expect against other teams the new build would throw them for a loop.
But the only question would be how easy is it to set up these specific corp vs corp battles in the new build because I know they are changing up the faction warfare system. |

Problem is the next build does away with current corp battle system entirely and battles will have to rely exclusively on using planetary conquest to pull something like this off. That opens a whole can of worms in terms of organizing these types of events.
Honestly, this is going to be the last chance to do a straight forward competitive tourney for a while. |

The tourney ends before May 6th not on it.
The last tournament that I hosted was very successful and I handled prizes of much more value than these entry fees including shirts, plexes, and merc packs which constituted hundreds of real $ in prizes and billions of ISK. The point of doing an entry-fee tourney is to make sure only serious teams enter since there isn't time to do an Open Round-Robin like last time.

Spero Escrow Services looks forward to earning the trust of every clone soldier over time through consistent reliability and customer service. There is far more profit in entering a long term relationship with the community than a one-off scam.
It is our hope that this tournament will help to build trust in our services. Third party contracts through neutral organizations such as Spero Escrow Services will be of great use to any interested merc organizations once PC launches.
Please remember that Kain Spero , Kane Spero, and Mr Kane Spero are the same person. |

Pleas do! Shoot a message to my Eve-side: Kane Spero as that is the best way to get in touch with me. I have something in the works now that will hopefully facilitate exactly this kind of community interaction.
There are lots a awesome Dusters out there that want to put effort and provide content to the community through tournaments and I think being able to give you the tools to do that would be awesome. |

Hey guys, just a quick post to say that the ESL is indeed getting behind this tournament along with others in the future!
I will be working alongside Kane for this and currently i am in the process of getting the Dust514 game section up and running on CSL, our site dedicated for console games.
I try to operate an open doors policy as much as i can, the only reason that people like myself and Kane are here is for you guys, so your input is both welcome and valued.
You can get in touch with me via:
E-mail: [email protected] Skype: charlie.iddon
You could also get in touch with me on eve and dust, but compared to my email and skype i rarely check those for messages.

I am a huge fan eSports and everything it represents. However, you could not have picked a worse time to host a tournament. To many corps are focusing on building their Warchest for the upcoming PC. Corp battles are time consuming, but more importantly expensive. |

As the entry fee schedule and timing imply this tournament is much more for the younger and smaller corporations to get a chance to prove themselves rather than the larger and also more well established organizations.
The tourney will be a great opportunity for those organizations that have yet to participate in these wider community events. |
