For people in the closed beta months before it went open beta, this build has been played to death! There are 2 reasons to play the game as of right now.

1) Skill points

Both you can get while AFK. You mad cuz people don't want to play the game, PUBS, but they are forced to in order to keep up with SP? You really THAT butthurt? How about not taking pub games so seriously, and even better yet, not take this beta build so seriously.

Direct your anger and butthurtery towards CCP, not your fellow gamers who have been playing this stale beta... for months with no new content.

New players will always have less skill points then you unless they grind like crazy, so don't blame CCP for your desire to stay "competitive" or relevant.

Is CCP partially to blame? Yes, but so are AFKers.

Give me a break! I normally I agree with your opinions, but not with this one. It's not a matter of new players, it's a matter of not losing your SP a week cuz CCP hasn't put in a pool for SP yet. If you don't hit your cap every week, that's SP lost never to be seen again.

So I won't be forced to play this dull beta just so I won't lose SP. Not the players fault that CCP doesn't have a pool, or that there hasn't been any new content for months.

So then the Roll over system would stop you from AFKing? That's good to hear. I'm sure there's those would AFK anyway, but then again I don't actually care if people do... CCP should still figure out a way to stop them though.

I would say that new players would never catch up this way, but to be honest, at this rate they probably never will even with active Sp. Still, I feel like there should be some incentive to play and not just leave passive SP turned on, aside from Isk farming.

I had someone who tried out the game yesterday for the first time quit immediately after a Skirmish game where a part of the enemy team was AFKing in the MCC. There were other reasons why this person didn't like the game, but after that match, he said he actually hated the game. I don't expect this player to be back, ever again. That's just an anecdote.

Much like someone who steals stuff from a store because the storefront window was already broken with a huge gaping hole, and y'know, your argument is that because the window was obviously broken, you HAD to steal from the store because this was the only way that the store owners would notice that they needed to fix the window.

Not only are AFKers so self absorbed, not realizing the affect other real people playing the game, they don't care when they are told this and . . . their excuse is they want to keep up in a game that is, in their view, behind in production.

currently i dont afk farm i still suffer through my weekly cap but i fully understand why ppl do

1st off pubs are MEANINGLESS in the grand scheme of things
ppl who afk farm are from the prominent corps and the reason they do this is because unlike u these ppl are in actual corps that plan to play FW and especially PC so they need to keep gettin the SP to get their gear up and builds sorted.

When FW and PC drops u'd be dumb goin into those fights with std gear so ppl need the SP

This beta has been at a standstill since October or so. U really expect ppl to NOT be bored to death?
if all ppl cared about was pubs then ppl wouldnt afk farm, they would leave the game and just collect the passive SP and come back when its better and more content added but they cant do that atm when PC and FW will be highly competitive

So, if you're AFK in the winning team you're just evening things out. If you're AFK on the losing team you are just saving your team clones for your teammates to die as much as they want... lol

I'll say it again, in any other game, if you were bored with it, you would not turn it on. Being bored, our burnt out, or calling the main game mode (for those not in elite corps) meaningless. is not an excuse to rob players excited by the game, fresh to the game, and adding new meaning to their playstyle. . . a chance of winning a match, which might surprise you, is more important than whether a particular skill is at level 3 or 4.
