Not necessarily. What if you gave up your life to let others live, but knew, given a little time, they would be taken into slavery? Or they would become prey to the Blood Raiders you delayed slightly? Or taken by another, worse, threat? Is that still noble? the future cannot be predicted, so at that point in time? yes, it WAS Read again, I said that the "noble" person KNOWS that the people he's "sacrificing" himself for will meet a horrible end. Is that still noble?
Yes. Sacrifice is always noble. |

Greetings,
The Imperfects are currently holding many Caldari Key defensive outposts. After almost three day of constant fighting we have pushed the enemy back. Air space is currently in enemy hands; however the ground is a different story.
In the following days we give these key positions back to the Cladari forces. |

my EVE character set on the algolille gate off and on in hopes of being able to jump into luminaire, the rest of the times i had him docked in the syster.
never happened, and since i was off work friday i played Dust most of the day, and checked into EVE between matches to see if things had improved and yak and stuff.
now granted, my EVE character is gallente (intaki) and while national pride is all well and good for some - it doesn't keep him in blow and space hookers, so its a good thing, I think, that I hauled in a bunch of faction ammo, ships, and assorted other goodies (including ground attack ammo for any potential OBs going on) the night before things went nuts.
My bank account is quite happy. sure, i supplied both sides potentially, but jenny juggs in the pleasure hub soothes my conscience. |

Is that still noble? the future cannot be predicted, so at that point in time? yes, it WAS Read again, I said that the "noble" person KNOWS that the people he's "sacrificing" himself for will meet a horrible end. Is that still noble? Until you have a proven 100% reliable method of telling the future, no amount of "knowing" that something will happen can make it unavoidable before the fact. You can set up (or "know" about) a scenario in which the people you're only temporarily saving will end up in a worse situation that they're less equipped to escape, but the fact that they ddn't get killed today means there's a chance they'll change course, or something else will interefere to change their course or weaken the upcoming threat enough to give them a chance.
The future is never set in stone. |

WAT? I like my planets how I like my chicken wings, extra crispy. The more the planet has magma cinders and looks an EvE version of Char. the better. You like your chicken wings covered in dead Caldari soldiers? Cant confirm nor deny it.

Phoenix Archer 128 wrote:Overall, there is no way the Caldari can hold Caldari Prime for long; the system is firmly within Gallente territory and the Caldari really can't get supplies and all to the system, at least not enough to really hold the planet for the long-term. The Titan stayed there for so long because, well...its a Titan...
The only way the Caldari can hold their homeworld is to use diplomacy, like the Ishukone Corp is trying to do. Too bad Heth (and many Caldari) are looking to actually force the planet into their hands...sorry, but it won't end well if they keep trying to fight for it. After all, look at the Titan now...
Diplomacy? Bargain for the right to live in your ancestral home, your birthplace?
You must be joking.
Capsuleers have unimaginable ammounts of wealth and power, you really think the status quo of the empires and the plans of the hidden powers will stop the perpetual attempt to retake the planet?
If it weren-Št for Traffic Advisory intervention, the system would be crawling with pro-Caldari capsuleers and the Shiigeru would still be stantind proud on the skies.
One day, the empires will bow to capsuleers and us.
I have the eternity to wait. |
