I know I've posted this kind of thread before, but there seem to be a lot more cynics/whiners/nay-sayers on these forums over the last day over the last few weeks.
Almost all of the complaints are related to the development of the game. Lack of transparency, not enough updates, etcetera. Anyway. Most of these people also seem to have no clue with regards to the process of games development. Let's look at some examples. Half Life 3 and Skyrim.
Half Life: Episode 2 was released in 2007. Half Life 3 has been in development since then, or even since before then, and yet it's been six years and there's absolutely no news with regards to anything about it. Skyrim started being developed shortly after Oblivion released, in 2006. It took five years for them to release Skyrim, and even then, they're still released patches to fix bugs.
A couple more examples. TF2 took 9 years to develop. WoW took 5 years to develop. WoW had 4 expansions over 9 years, with a huge dev team from Blizzard working on it. You're asking for a major content update, for a free game, eight months after closed beta started.
DUST has been in development for five years. In 2010, CCP switched engines to the Unreal engine. The hardest part of developing a game is in adapting or creating the game engine, which is why the Unreal engine is so widely used. In effect, CCP adapted the Unreal engine and created EVERYTHING you see in the game at the moment in two years. It's incredibly effective.
They're creating new content as quickly as possible, but as they need to create new content from scratch, it will take time. It also takes time to trawl through millions of lines of code, finding any possible bugs, and then more time to fix them. If any of you have tried coding before, you will know what I'm talking about.
Stop complaining about the slow game development before you do your research.
Sorry for the rant, CCP. |

Okay, let's take another example. Minecraft. They accepted money for their ALPHA. Another two alphas I've bought into, Kinetic Void and Starforge Alpha. Hell, there's a whole section on steam dedicated to "Early Access".
Another one is Arma 3... And another is Trials Gold: Evolution.
Need any more examples? |

The microtransaction part is entirely optional on your side. You were previously informed that the game is an unfinished product, both by devs and by players, and you must have noticed bugs when playing the game prior to buying AUR.
Those who bought AUR were aware of these problems and yet still CHOSE to buy Aurum, to support CCP. All you were getting for your money is an in-game currency, with which to buy items. It does NOT give you the right to dictate what CCP does, or will ever do.
Essentially, all you've done by complaining about game development and asking the devs to "speed up" is to show your entitled side. Asking for transparency... They don't need to provide it. Perhaps it's in their best interests NOT to provide it. Unexpected setbacks occur in game development, which means they may need to leave features out of this update to be put in later, or they might delay any planned deadline so that they can put certain, almost-finished-but-not-quite features in.
If they set a release date, and didn't meet it, how annoyed would you be? If they said this feature would be in and it wasn't, how much grief would you give CCP? I can imagine more so than you do now. |

No. Repeatedly I've seen you, and others, complain that the game is boring. There have been complaints about the number of maps, slow gameplay, new game modes, everything. Almost all of those come from the same people, and the threads come within days of each other. The same people make the same complaints, day after day. They ask for the content as quickly as possible, when they don't realise how long game development takes.
Yes, you're sick of the same game over and over again. Yes, you complain over and over. For example, your thread re: stop paying CCP. You want to motivate them, in order to speed up game development. I honestly cannot think of a more immature and entitled way of getting someone to do something for you.
You don't NEED to send them a message. They KNOW. They're coding and making content as quickly as they can, and doing something as idiotic as not giving them money because they're being SLOW about it is the worst idea I've ever heard.
They KNOW everything about how to improve their game as they've heard it from twenty different people, ten times a day, over the last eight months.
Cut CCP some slack. Do you honestly think they're kicking back and relaxing on the job, not trying to make the game better? Do you honestly think they're not trying to develop the game to the best of their abilities, as quickly as they can? Honestly think about it. |

Regnum, if you can't tell, I play skirmish way more than ambush. Hence, my games aren't recorded.
I played back in closed beta, so yes, I do know how much (or little) progress has been made. I had no access to a PS3 for six months, and all those games played have been in the past week and a half. So yes, go ahead, imply that I don't like the game. |

Oddly enough, I don't know why my WP isn't higher. I probably got 8k today alone... I have hit my cap for this week, already, and that's definitely more than 10 games.
Ydubbs, no, I'm asking you to cut CCP some slack. And kills hardly matters, I did play this game eight months ago, so I can see how few features have been put in. I've waited for this game since it was first announced, so I get the feeling of waiting. But rushing CCP doesn't make a better game. |

They've announced something for around Fanfest. That's been known for a while.
@General: Apologies, I've seen too many of "this game is awful fix it" threads, that they kind of all mold into one complaint.
I also get that you don't need DUST, but DUST needs you. That's what I'm trying to say - you're saying you won't give them money unless they do something you want. It is, in effect, coercion.
It's up to CCP whether to release information or not. They've announced upcoming features, and what they want to be in the game for release. They don't want to be premature in anything else they do, and I can fully understand that.
You do realise that Fox Four meant that as a harmless bit of fun? That CCP enjoys playing practical jokes on people? In fact, go through the first page of this thread.

Also look up the boot.ini. Two very notable events for CCP, in which QA was very important, and two events which show they care very much, and love getting involved with the community. |
