I like Dust. I like so many things about it.
But there are too many things missing, and no info coming from the devs.
If you feel the same, I encourage you to do the following:
Stop giving them money.
Don't buy merc packs or aurum, don't buy starter packs.
More importantly, either sign in this thread that you will not pay for this type of treatment, or start a thread announcing that you are done giving money until we get some real progress.
CCP has been getting what is a free ride on this beta, because most of us are committed to Dust for the long haul, and are willing to overlook short term problems.
This in turn allows CCP far too much leeway. They need to be shown that the community that is ready to support this game will not be taken advantage of.
Let CCP know that when the game is worth money, you will be a paying supporter, but the current situation is unacceptable.
We want set dates for content releases. We want a proper roadmap for promised features. We want to know how CCP intends to get from what we have now to where they want a release version to be.
We will not get any change in CCPs treatment of the dust player base while people continue to hand over cash. It would be stupid of them to do so.
So lets smarten up and cut off their funding, see if that changes their tune. Only we can make that happen.

@ Laheon, the very first sentence of my post was that I like Dust. So I don't know why you think I don't like the game. I'm not angry, but I also realize that as long as people are handing cash to CCP, they actually have less impetus to provide concrete information. It is in their interest to not provide concrete information because if they were to announce that the next build is in June, there would be a lag in purchases.
@Horned Wolf: You haven't spent any money, I have. So you don't have any expectations, thats fine, it is just a free game to you. Not so for me. You have obviously gotten your monies worth, I feel that I have not. If this comes across as a tantrum, please not that I am not angry, or even upset. I just realize that in order to compel a change in CCP's methods of dealing with the customer base they need to be affected in the only manner which counts.
Edit: I payed to get into the closed beta because I love the idea behind Dust and I wanted to show my support for CCP. If you haven't spent anything, this isn't a thread for you. |

Next build is in June. Unless you think that we are going to get a region of New Eden to have PC in without an update to Eve itself.

Where is that date coming from?
Next Eve update is June 4th. Considering that PC is going to take place in a region where there are currently no districts, it is only logical that in order to have our PC zone, the update to Eve will give us that space.
So, June 4th, not before. |

I disagree. The funds coming from selling AUR are next to nothing compared to the costs of developing the game. It's a bonus for them, sure, and it lets players have access to items they may not usually be able to get, but it's hardly necessary for them at this point.
On the other hand. I agree that CCP could give us more information, but I can understand why they wouldn't.
CCP expects to turn a profit from the Aurum purchases. If they did not, they never would have started developing the game. It would be business suicide to develop a commodity without a market, or a method to get that capital from your customers.
You don't develop a project for a tiny base and then microtransact your profits. That only works on large scale ventures. So CCP needs a large base paying for Aurum items to make Dust a success.
I am all for being one of those people, but not while the status quo is maintained. |

Tenchu-13 wrote: Seriously... your 'Call to Arms', or should I say your 'Call to Empoverish" CCP is as childish as some of the responses in this thread. You ask people to not give any money to CCP till they meet your 'demands', how old are you 10 ?
This is not blackmail. This is not a hostage situation. This is me expressing discontent with the manner in which the devs are performing and deciding to withhold any further compensation from them until the show they deserve it. If CCP doesn't want to change, so be it, if they want to keep us in the dark, and be bitches about it, ok. But I certainly won't pay for that type of service.
Tenchu-13 wrote: If you would have thought even the slightest bit about 'post', you would have already noticed that it is just plain dumb. Do you really thing that cutting off the income from Dust will change anything for CCP. Pretty sure that most of their stable income still comes, and will always come from EVE.
If CCP didn't think they could make money with Dust, they wouldn't have made it. Besides, if what you are saying is that my Eve subscription fees are the only reason why bums like you are playing Dust, then I should be more upset right?
Tenchu-13 wrote: 75% of the community probably never has and never will give any money to CCP in the first place. If you haven't done so by now, you won't do so in the future. (even do there are always exceptions... the majority simply won't).
I have given money to CCP, so this statement is absolutely useless.
Tenchu-13 wrote: Also to those that can't wrap their minds around the fact that some people pay for a game that is in Beta... either we (me included) simply have more faith in the game then others, or we simply aren't a bunch of whining - self entitled cheapskates that are glad to drop a few bucks every now and then to aide in the dev. of a game we like. I have payed 60 bucks for games that seriously sucked so why wouldn't I pay for something I think is pretty sweet.
False dilemma. Learn to argue. I had no problem throwing cash to CCP to get into the closed beta. Now, seeing what they have done in the time since I got in, I have decided that they do not deserve further funding from me. If CCP wants more of my money, they have to earn it.

Not here to argue.. you give us your pov., and so did I.
And trust me 'bums' like me don't need people like you paying for them, If there where more bums lke me ccp would have a shitload of money by now.
Actually, I owe you an apology for the bums comment. I mucked up and thought you were one of the freebies. Totally uncalled for on my part.
