Every time i play skirmish its always a red line because my squad and i destroy the noob berrys on the enemy team so its total redline the whole game. 3 or 4 people should not be able to hold down an entire team, its not how a massive battle is intended to be played. There are simply too many new players who are still learning to play the game and ruin the experience for many, many people simply because they are new to dust and dont know how to play yet. Ive gotten a few messages from strangers after a skirmish game saying: " its always one sided..." or something to that effect. It sucks! There are THOUSANDS of new players who cant hold a skirmish game from 3 or 4 people, how will this settle when we get 6 man squads? For the most part, they never form squads or join in an exsisting one so there will be no stoping the 6 man squad from one corp when they find a lobby of randoms.
I realise there will always be an influx of new players but so many thousands & thousands of players could end up benifiting from a reset upon release and with that many people becoming up to par and experienced after playing open beta skirmish would become much more balanced everywere and more fun to play. I mean come on, how many of us dont like playing ambush but cant stand how a fun skirmish game is as rare as Missile Tanks these days? |

Seems it's not 3 or 4 people, even one good player is enough to make a significant difference in win rates. |

Even more rediculas. Pubs full of new berrys are /so/ frequant that one man can make the diffrence needed to redline an entire team. Smh |

I know that winning or losing is all that matters for some kids playing video games. When this happens people tend to stop having fun when playing. |

That too. People like you and i enjoy having hard fire fights, prolly alllll of closed beta players along with us considering how infrequant hard fought battles are and alot of people always loose because of how absurdly pants on heads BACKWARDS bad the player base is. So basically, theres many more people who are unhappy with skrimish than there are satisfied |

Using this again, skirmish is one or more closed beta vets joining in and destroying the enemy team to a 15-25 min redline game. That is not fun for anyone involved. Not the winning team cuz their not getting as many points as the ppl actually winning the battle for them, and obviously not the loosing team. Unless their snipers. Then its great!

I complain about this daily with my corp. 50% of this game doesn't even work. You can either play blobfest (Ambush) or you can play Redline (Skirmish that doesn't even record stats 80% of the time). They really need to come up with something like once you take all letters red line vanishes and there is one more letter you hack and once hacked it does MASSIVE dmg to MCC and ends game quick.
This way the team getting beat IF they have the heart they can continue to try to win and take control of the letter and one letter outside to bring back the red line. OR If they are just giving up the game will end within another 2minutes or so because the final letter taken will do MASSIVE dmg to MCC to not draw out a game that is over. This is just a foundation of a idea if you can build on it or make it better please let's tell CCP get this started.
Perhaps if guys can't just sit back and red line snipe it will make them want to be on battlefield and assist their team with capturing points. OR If they wanna red line snipe they can only do it for so long. You should NOT be rewarded for red lining yourself in the first 30 seconds of match. |

The matchmaker must stand on its own. In the years to come, there will be ppl with huge amounts of sp and there will still be new players. The instant matches seem to try and combine these ppl in the same match, however, i don't think this will ever work. Place your focus on the matchmaker rather than wanting a reset. A reset will just have the same problem but for someone else. |

a reset wouldn't make skirmish playable, ABC holding objectives with forward spawns are natural red line game modes, happened in MAG without tanks, with that said, you use a tank which adds to easy red lining.
Also once your red lined, their aren't enough exits from the spawn, you can literally sit up high and see every single person that spawns and where they are going and easily kill them with your tank or a sniper rifle.
Bad map design and bad game mode won't be offset by a reset... |

The instant battles will be a small part of the game, i see the entire thing as a training ground. The district combat is where the action will be. Bring your best stuff there and play against high sp players. There should be no mercy there, but the instant battles should follow a different standard. Matching ppl as close as it can in both sp and skill. Otherwise, a new player will hate this game even more as the sp difference becomes greater. When a new player gets enough sp to feel good, then they can move into FW or planetarty conquest, where they could be playing ppl that can simply out spend them or has a far greater sp advantage. |

The separation of players by something related to Skill, SP, WP or equipment is being looked into for the Battle Finder. There are going to be several Filters available and that certainly seems like something that is possible.
Another Kitten Eating Reset is total and absolute Kitten Excrement acquired by running over a ton of them with HAVs.
There is no way in Hell I am going to gather up another 9M SP between two characters. It would be much better to just give up on this game and move on. They have wasted too much of my time with the previous resets already while making a significant portion of the game worse by Nerfing anything that the herd of QQ Kittens whine about. Or whatever their friends or Corp mates desire.
ps: just as a counter point to the entire skirmish isn't playable BS, we played a few tonight and had two that were horrible (nobody there), two that we rocked and another that went to the wire in an intense fight. Not bad odds all in all. |

CCP should be listening to you, your the best heavy in the game and the guy who inspired me to become a heavy! You are one of the people ccp should be taking notes from and plus these matches are heavily prone to redlining. Just run to a letter that's the closest to their base, capture it, and hold it then their usually screwed after that. |

This whole entire thread is why active SP is bad. Everyone cries because they can't be in proto gear in a three days and then cry because there is a gap between new and old players. Then everyone cries that something is OP it gets changed and then it is not strong enough to kill proto and it gets a buff. Then people cry that they don't get enough WP for every little thing they do and then they cry again when people get points for every little thing and can't be killed in two shots. Good players are good and bad players are bad. No amount of gear, SP,WP, nerf, buff or anything else will every change this. I have been playing for almost a year now and I am a bad shot nothing will fix that and I suck it up and play or I suck it up and stop playing. The point to this diatribe is that all the cry babies got what they wanted and then got what they wanted and then cried and got it again. It is every person's fault who cried that this or that needs a buff, nerf, tweek, more points and whatever else it is they cry about. Yes there is imbalance but it is in the skill of the players and their ability to read, understand and apply the tools we have. Active SP is the problem and now that the gap between the young and the old or the good and the bad has grown and it is time to cry about something else. I am glad we are crying our way to a bland, boring everything is the same Call of Duty clone that only has 5 colors on the screen. QUIT CRYING. You got what you wanted. |

They should be nerfed.
If your K/D goes above 2:1 during the course of a match, you should automatically have the damage output of all your weapons cut in half, and if you ever have more than 100WP lead over the next-highest-scoring player in the match, you should stop earning WP until they catch up. Also, if you're healing too fast, your Repair Tool should develop and overheat function so you can only use it for 3 seconds at a time, and Nanohives should downgrade to Militia variants if more than 3 people use one in the space of 30 seconds, or just vanish if they're already the Militia version. Each spawn on an Uplink should lengthen the spawn timer by 2 seconds, even in Ambush. Flux Grenades should deal a fixed amount of shield damage split evenly among the targets caught in the blast, rather than dealing full damage to everything they hit.
This way, good players won't be as unfairly advantaged against people who suck at FPS games.

Something needs to be done since theres to many games that are one sides, worse yet people are getting cocky because they can kill 5 new players on their own when using Proto gear ect.
When you see people with the sick K/D's, a large parti f because the match making system is unbalanced, it seems to put the more experienced players on one team, and all the new players on the other. How many games have you seen where one side is made up of 4-5 corps and the other is made up of 12-16 differn't corps? |

This to be honest
I think you're spot on. Reset are not an option, far to many ppl will quit, if they lose the stuff they have invest time and in somoe cases pounds, dollars and euros in.
Once a team is redlined, it is INSANELY hard to get out and push back the other team, no matter how good you might be. I'm not sure that tanks are the issue, as to be honest, tanks are maybe to easily killed anyway. For me it's down to maps, the only thing I would change is some sort of covert cover, not a cloak but behind a hill or something, where at least you could spawn in LAVs/Dropships "safely" in order to break out... or even if they could be safely deployed from the MCC. Also, I would remove the ability to OB behind the others teams red line.
Currently one of the biggest issues with teams getting curb stomped is the fact you can log into a match, stay in the MCC unkillable and make a bunch of isk and SP. I would stop that... Perhaps if you're in the MCC you're not considered active and therefore make on cash/sp all the time you're there and maybe, if you're behind your redline you make only 25% the total amount your could. I have seen "pro corps" doing this lately. When you have 5 guys in the MCC not active 5 guys sniping. the remaining six are gonna get owned whilst trying to flip ABCD'E. |

Been hearing the
"oh vets have to much sp" whine since a few days after beta on Eve... bores me there, bores me here.
Loads of SP just means you can have more suits of different types, it doesn't make you better... for that matter, I couldn't care less about my K/D ratio. I run in nearly 99% of matches a pure militia logi set up, I lose 4k isk per suit and nearly ALWAYS crack 1000wp a match, I save other guys hundreds of thousands of ISK in suits and set ups. You can run my set up with NO sp at all and still makes much cash and sp.
The real issue with ppl would rather ***** and moan about how the game should be changed to suit them, rather than using the same effort to working out how to make the best of being crap, just like I did.. I'm ******* awful at this game and yet still end up at the top of the leader board at the end of the match. |

Thank you for summing it up perfectly. You are 100% correct with everything you said. SP does give advantages but really only in core skills. 90% of SP is not being used while on the ground. SP gives a merc options more than anything. |

That's a poor excuse for a reset. The minimum amount for a player to get primary skills is circa 3.5 million.
You want a reset every 3 months because of noobies who can't be bothered / get rofl stomped? that is not the answer!
as it stands, matchmaking is ******. 2 squads can get on the same team with blueberries in kdr of 5+ while the other team is 100% newbs. That's the problem CCP has to fix, not player SP levels. Those are false indicators of how good a player is.
