U see that bunch of letters under a name? Look hard I know it's hard to see. That mean anything u say while those letter are under ur name is to some degree a extension of a whole I was not address u so please be quite.

I know its a crappy thing to do but until CCP decides to do something here is my solution. I need every non AFKer to help. Here is a list of AFKers I saw tonight. Feel free to add to it. If you see these people on your team or against your team. Just leave. They can't afk if they have no match to AFK in.

I only pretend to AFK in the MCC. Actually, I'm roleplaying as a human statue. I smile for 1 ISK, move for 5 ISK and dance for 10 ISK.

Unfortunately, ISK transfer hasn't been implemented yet so I'm stuck standing in one place if I want to stay true to my character.

I honestly couldnt care less about people either in my corp or out that do this. The build is fairly old now and now that we know whats coming, it feels a bit of a chore to play, so by afk farming in skirmish matches, you can get that essential sp while playing other games wiating for the new build.

Anyway, these are pointless, random games that have no impact on anything. If someone was afking in a corp match, then I would care, but this is just a non issue.

I didn't know Bf3, cod, etc banned people for going afk

First of all, people don't afk entire battles in CoD, BF3 ect. Secondly, I said abuse game mechanics, not go afk. Going afk is not abusing game mechanics in those game either. Ultima Online, one of the first MMO ever, banned people for afk skill training.. not the only one either.

Because there's no abuse? CCP designed the reward system in such a way that what you do in the battleh as very little effect on yoru rewards. The majority of them come from time spent in battle.

I will agree that the rewards for time are a bit high... But there's honestly nothing CCP can do to stop people from idling except make the game more rewarding and interesting to actually play it.

If they introduce an idle-kick... People will just use macros on their controllers, or run around every so often knowing how long they have to move.

If they introduce a vote-kick... People will just abuse the hell out of it to kick people they don't like regardless of if they are AFK or not.


They only thing to really do is lower the rewards based on time. They can't remove them completely, because they were put there in the first place as a 'consolation prize' for the people who get like 100-200WP a match at most on a regular basis. This system allows those people to progress at a good pace still...


(As a side-note... The only people involved in actual abuse of game mechanics here are the people using grenades to try to teamkill.) It's hilarious to dance around those people, and make them kill themselves for no reason btw.

Actually I've known people who've had to leave whole matches in some fpses but have staued in the match in case they returned on time and for the W/l ratio change, wouldn't that be abusing the system? Explain why he hasn't been banned. Also even in Eve systems have been abused for about a decade because they can be, CCP won't take the petty route and ban for it's short comings

Apparently you have never reported a bad afk farmer in eve, because when they get caught, they get banned.

Actually, the solution is to punish those "players" who choose to exploit the game and taint the overall experience. Considering the exposure lately to the subject, I'm expecting that CCP is watching.

Sabotage is an amazing part of new Eden. Sabotaging a team who's trying to do something by doing the opposite (nothing) to hinder their efforts is a legimate action.

@ Vermak They did when I played eve years ago. If they don't anymore, its just another reason I'm glad I left eve.

We'll see. You might want to brush up on the bannings in Eve to see what CCP might do. Or, you know, not afk.

Just so we all know, how long have you been in this beta? Might want to think about having to play the same maps/build over and over again for a year before bringing in the afk police.

I would love to wake up one morning go to work and just stand in the reception. Why not i get paid per hour after all. If they wanted me to actually work as well they would pay me by the amount of work I do rather than how long I am there.

SIMPLE SOLUTION-

Do away with SP gains from battle, go down the EVE route and have only passive SP gains.
