I hate to say it but Dreddit, and Chronos are probably going to dominate the map.
I am wondering however what http://www.eveonline.com/odyssey has in store. |

I'm planning on hitting RND!
Seriously, could this be used as a way to schedule friendly corp battles with srs biznezz losses? To make it interesting? |

There's no such thing as a "friendly corp battle". |

Arena mode will NOT be in the next build, I am very sorry. And if I could do anything about it unless its an internal corp fights would not have losses but any external corp fights will be lossful economizing the matches proper.
(For example BattleToads vs BattleToads would be losses as its considered 'training' where as BattleToads vs FightingFrogs would be a waged match with losses) |

Dreddit is the eve corp and Subdreddit is the sister corp for dust. They come from the website reddit. They're huge with 780 member in subdreddit alone (not to mention Dreddit) and they easily dominate Eve, but I don't know about dust514. Numbers may be less important than skill although they'll certainly have the capsuleer support for aerial bombardment, and if Eve-dust Isk exchange ever opens up again they will quickly become the richest corp in the game. |

Eve bombardment won't change the course of a match any more than a regular warbage-precision strike. |

more than anything i need eve interaction. even if i have to buy my eve guys a UVT i need to be able to speak to them in corp audio. corp wallet and corp hangar, are number one on my list. until the dust market goes live nothing else matters very much.
without the market... it's just not real.
i mean, make me fly a blockade runner across the eve map and open trade windows with my dusters if that's what it takes.

ok..but after you transfer a few billion ISK into your corp...then what will you look forward to day-to-day? Not to mention, that the thrill of owning districts is for additional corp revenue. Just funnelling ISK from EVE into Dust sort of defeats that purpose and reduces the thrill of conquering planets. |

oh... no. what i mean is: right now we buy our isk equipment from ccp. there's just no difference between isk and aur fundamentally right now. there needs to be. running aur gear should be embarrassing

No amount of ISK can buy you aim and FPS ability. These corps that think once they can dump billions of ISK into their characters and believe they'll be able to suddenly field a 16 man competent team when they struggle in 8v8 is laughable. Aerial support isn't that important, you might catch a few more enemies with the wider blast radius/different ammo type, but how do you expect to generate enough WP to make it matter when you're getting stomped across the board on the ground? I have a feeling these huge alliances backing the sub-par skilled corps will end up dropping them when they're constantly losing ISK from having their districts raided. |

These huge corps are the same corps that think Stats are meaningless. in a way, they are meaningless in this game's current state because there are no dedicated, competitive playlists to play in (like the arena we're supposed to get.)
These corps could pour in trillions of ISK into a group of mediocre corps, and have them attack one of the more skilled alliances. They think they'll win eventually. They think they'll wear us down. But they wont.
Have a corp of equal, or higher skill attack another defending, skilled corp, then we have ourselves a contested battle. Throw a group of idiots against a skilled corp, and you're just lining them up for a slaughter.
ISK talks in EVE.
Skill talks in DUST. (and I'm not talking about skill points.)

the interesting part about that dubbs is that PRO will actually need to WIN those fights If ppl allow PRO to grow too large too quickly then maybe yes but battle wise they will lose alot and suffer heavy clone loss when attacking
this is what alliances are for also
idk will have to wait and see how things develop
my thing is what if what happened in EVE happens in DUST? i fear to think of a BlueDonutCoalition forming too early cuz in EVE u can still do **** when not fighting but for a FPS if u not fighting then why play? lol |

Now that I'm rethinking it....PRO will be able to claim a lot of territory and hold some of them for a while but if taken, how will they get them back? They have the resources to hit all of your territories at once so as long as you don't own a lot of territories, I guess corps will be fine. |

What I'm wondering is do you set your time of vulnerablity for each district or for your whole corp. If it is for your whole corp than that changes things. So you would have, let's say 20 districts, all of your districts would be up for attack at the same time. So you would have your few districts that would be defended by your A squad, then few with your B then few with your benchwarmers. So you wouldn't be able to hold that much at one time. Also this would cut down on your attack time and ability because you would be spending a lot of time retaking your taken districts. So it will be interesting to see if maybe a medium sized district count will be the best way to go or even if one corp and own almost all of New Eden. |

Well, it's supposed to be a joke. My mother always told me to stay away from comedy ...
The joke, essentially, is that, instead of fighting hard, BHD is going to be drinking hard. Of course, in reality, I'm quite certain that BHD hasn't picked a "primary target" during PC's opening week. There's time, since PC won't be coming for several months yet. |

Who are you looking forward to hit the very first week that planetary conquest is implemented? more than anything i need eve interaction. even if i have to buy my eve guys a UVT i need to be able to speak to them in corp audio. corp wallet and corp hangar, are number one on my list. until the dust market goes live nothing else matters very much. without the market... it's just not real. i mean, make me fly a blockade runner across the eve map and open trade windows with my dusters if that's what it takes. It gets real when planetary conquest is implemented. That's what his game will be about what about those of us who started playing eve when they announced dust? you can see how i'm waiting to drop the hammer on being able to finance my corp. ok..but after you transfer a few billion ISK into your corp...then what will you look forward to day-to-day? Not to mention, that the thrill of owning districts is for additional corp revenue. Just funnelling ISK from EVE into Dust sort of defeats that purpose and reduces the thrill of conquering planets. rumor is the transfer of isk to dust will be heavily taxed |

As a director for Subdreddit, I would say that this would not be a very good assumption to make. Our capsuleers will definitely give us a bit of an edge here and there, along with the resources they provide. However, ultimately in the limited size of this first step towards PC we will likely be no more of a threat than any other corp. CCP is intentionally hamstringing the larger corps by artificially limiting the number of players we can bring in to fight over territories. Unfortunately, most of our guys will be left waiting in the wings for a chance to really play until either more territory is opened up or we get ourselves established over the first few months. On day one we all get 100 clones, which basically means only about 2% of our members will actually get to participate.
Long term, we are going to crush all of you pansies, but for the short to mid term I honestly think there are more important things to worry about than the large corps. The small corps who focus on a very dedicated strike force will be the ones to watch our for during the next few months after the update. |

But they wont. Have a corp of equal, or higher skill attack another defending, skilled corp, then we have ourselves a contested battle. Throw a group of idiots against a skilled corp, and you're just lining them up for a slaughter. ISK talks in EVE. Skill talks in DUST. (and I'm not talking about skill points.) ISK will control dust just like Eve. For a start, clones will cost money, 200,000 ISK a pop. Second, you'll only be able to make them so fast - based on how much territory you control.

I'm probably going to regret getting even involved in this thread.... but really!
Firstly, I don't really have not seen anybody from PRO good. Maybe are definition of good differs. Good to me, is someone who raises my eyebrows in a pubs. Someone who can put their team on the back and win. Someone who does not need to be told what to 90% of time.
I will admit you have some players better then average, but good.... IDK about that. Until I'm proven wrong my opinion still stands.

I've seen a PRO carry a team.. once.
He went ~28/2 and that gets a pass to me as a good player, don't recall the name.
That said I think the structure of PRO is going to be a mess unless Joe is the best Corp manager in the world.
The whole point of alliances is to manage large groups of players from many smaller organized Corporations. Trying to directly manage ~1600 players is a job I don't think anyone can really handle. I'm not sure the PRO model is viable. I hope they split up and realize organization is more important than impressive numbers. |

Weren't you the kid whining about losing proto suits by getting run over by LAVs? I think we could at the very least make you rage hard. Not to mention that we can make you beg for ISK. Once the game hits it's fully fleshed out state, it'll take serious effort to run proto gear, and you certainly won't be running it in pub matches. Let's just wait and see, yes? |

Dont hold ur breath on that one, i almost died doin that it'll be a long while till this game reaches its full potential
anyway OT ppl just let their guns do the talkin. All this talk about who is right and who is wrong about what ppl can do etc is pointless atm.
all i gotta say to the community is dont be like EVE and blue up 3/4 of the region just to farm cuz lets be real unlike EVE that **** would kill an FPS alot quicker since the whole point of a FPS is to shoot ppl and if ur not shooting ppl then no point to play.
hoping to see corps and alliances actually constantly fighting and even if evicted to re-enter the PC scene and not get discouraged.
Humans by nature will look for ways to lower their risk even if it comes at the cost of fun just to say they are "winning". Just hope what is currently happening in EVE doesnt happen in DUST. |
