Maybe if CCP did what we told them to months ago about fixing the voice setting so more ppl were defaulted into comms they wouldnt need this stupid spawn mechanic to create what is obviously the most dull and boring version of consensual battleline warfare i have everplayed.
What would normally only be acheived through in game communication is now created for you by simply pressing x.
Moreover it is utterly boring and predicatable. Any squad with half a brain simply lets the timid blueberries engage the other teams timid cranberries and simply move to cover and flank, ez px. Too bad half the game population is utterly dull or too scared to even think to do that.
Add to this what was once a fun map given its open terrain and constant need to maintain alertness has become two team sitting at either the bowl or twin peaks with only a road to divide them neither to ever cross it and be perfectly content to fire sniper rifles at each other as if it is of some benefit.
Yea yea i know its pub matches not to be taken seriously but this is just take boring to a whole other level.
Ive said it before ill say it again the spawning mechanism prior was fine except in the beginning. One only had to wait 10-15 seconds after dying before pressing respawn to give the algorithm enough time to find a secure spawn away from enemies but not fully out of the reach of danger. If you simply take this current spawning mechanic and apply it to the initial spawn and kept the former spawn system and people actually learned the mechanic everything would be fine.
Instead you try this out and of course the sheep applaud because no more random deaths, no more being surprised (ambushed) by enemy players at your back. (nvm a good player/squad guards their rear and you know if comms were made avaliable to the team as defualt settings overriding squad on initial matchmaking forcing squad to opt back to squad chat it wouldn't be a problem).
As it is all you have done is create a boring warzone which plays out way too much like pre-American Revolutionary war where two teams form battle lines and stand there waiting to be shot while the next line sits behind them ready to take the frontline.

Now you want to do infantry only mathces. Nice in theory but only divides the pool separating out tankers and with them likely dedicated AVers who would want to blow them out. So yea thats isolate what is already a small group of the population. wonder how well mattchmaking will go for them. Also what about 1 year from now when everyone had sone AV skills or tanks and arent reliant on others or have to worry about it since they can switch into it.
This game rewards versatility and thoughtfulness why do you want to restrict that for ppl who seem to only have a one track mind?
Guess its becoming less sandbox and more cardboard box i guess. |

I agree. It would make more sense to design maps that would make players choose certain strategies. Some maps aren't that great for tanks and others aren't great for sniping, but because the option is still there it creates a more interesting fight.
What I would like instead is a different set of infrastructures that were designed for cqc fights within an open map. Imagine if you have to hack a terminal for a gate so vehicles could enter, or open up a roof so a dropship could drop could drop infantry in.
Basically I want CCP to really make an effort to make the gameplay more immersive to promote a real use of team work. The way the spawns are now do make the pacing of the match very repetitive especially when your entire team understands the new spawn mechanics and exploits it. |

Wide Pre-chromosome redline with new spawn system may work as seperation is very likely to occur without voiced coordination.

The spawning system does indeed need work. Way too often you can get regularly spawn-killed to no fault of your own (NOT using Uplinks or CRUs) just because the system is biased to spawn you near your team mates, disregarding that they are swarmed and being slaughtered by the dozen on that spot. And I agree it does make the frontlines a bit more predictable, unfortunately. |

Ambush is currently laser tag from my childhood. You know the kind im talking about, when you and your buddies all huddle together and camp behind some objects and go "pew pew!"
I liked my childhood, mostly. At least that part of it.

I don't believe this is a consequence of the spawn mechanic. What you're describing is a combination of poor map design, with no concealment whatsoever, and an absolutely colossal gap between an entry player and a moderately sp'd player. One player simply cannot flank and kill more than one enemy in a clip, unless they're packing damage mods, and a lot of invested SP. This is trench warfare at the moment, the only element of battle involves playing a bunker. People hunker in and die in no-man's land. The game just doesn't have anything to break that trend at the moment, especially if they pull vehicles from Ambush.
They need to add corridors, interior-mixed portions, concealment and foliage, sheltered stairwells... |

The ambush spawning is terrible, it's simply blob vs blob mechanics, and orbitals are pretty much a guarantee of at least 8-16 kills by targeting one visible red dot.
The part I hate most is trying to get away from the center of the blob massacre, because if I get too far away, all of a sudden all the red dots spawn right on me. And even though I could have taken out the first couple that spawned, the 8 others that come in shortly thereafter make it absolutely ridiculous.
It's like the game punishes players for attempting to break free of the monotony of blob vs blob warfare. I like a good personal 1v1 or 1v2 fight, right now it's just everybody shooting at everybody, there is no personal touch to it. |

the old ambush is gone. kaput. get over it.. a buncha pansies cried on this forum and that was that- classic team death match ambush destroyed. you can either accept it or cry or deaf ears and label us all as sheep who are trying to learn to accept this new ambush, because apparently there nor bringing the old ambush back. yea the 2 blobs are stupid but you can be the person/squad to break out of the blob and do something, or not. |

The new mechanics didnt fix the original problem (spawning with reds) as it still happens to me a couple of times per match. Had a lovely melee gangbang earlier with 3 assaults on my adv heavy. |

old ambush was for men but a buncha men dressed as women came crying to forums because they'd never played a team death match from the 90s before and the so called hardcore players never stood up for TDM when it was being complained about so now they instead cry here in this post |

Still not ideal, but this is, so far, the best version of ambush I've played in. Much better than spawn in randomly behind enemy lines, get shot to death before your screen loads, rinse, repeat, repeat, yay, I'm finally near blue dots. |
