Would it have really been that difficult just to have switched turrets with him?
I know New Eden is a rough place but it is these kinds of shenanigans that make people leave the game. You should have driven it into the redline and let it blow up. Oh, this would've been waaay funnier!
i've done this before, funniest damn thing ever

Oh, this would've been waaay funnier! That's what I do when I steal an enemy's tank lol. After driving around a killing with it a bit ofcourse. stole an enemy tank once. he brought another one in. killed him with his tank. saw him bringing another one in the redline. drove to the redline blew it up before it hit the ground and self destructed his tank. triple kill with tanks losing 0 isk.

If you felt you could actually achieve something with it, then sure, keep it, but if you kept it just so you could troll the guy that called it in, then you are both removing yourself form the battle by using a vehicle that you have no skill in, and removing the guy you stole from the battle by taking the only thing he HAS skilled in. I actually took it because the enemy was hacking it, I killed him, and no one was around. A while later some blueberry is freaking out shooting at me like crazy, if he woulda not went nuts I woulda used the tank for some good but he pissed me off with pretty Nasty hatemail so I just let the enemy destroy it while he watched >^^^^^
if you **** up, don't get pissed when someone takes your stuff, if it's a pub match, it's basically you (and if your in a corp, your squad) against the enemy team.
if you screw up, it's on you |

Enough to fully fit an advanced dropsuit they are putting into something that is militia grade. And yet those who steal others vehicles how often do you risk your own ISK to bring in a vehicle? its not even about the grade of a vehicle it is about the principle of it. This is New Eden. HTFU. Seriously. If it meant spending a mil or more worth of ISK to get my needs done, you damn right I'll do it. ISK ain't a thing to me. In fact. I spend WAY more than 138k ISK when I use suits other than my militia assault with Exile rifle in a battle. We're not patting each other on the back. And even if we did it wouldn't be over someone stealing a tank from someone who apparently hopped out of it like a fool and got it taken. I'm laughing at the fact someone actually felt some type of way when the outcome was way better than what could have happened. Much rather have some blueberry driving my cheap tank than some redberry. It is this attitude that is going to keep Dust 514 from growing. If CCP wants to cater to their die hard crowd and keep their population totals low, regardless if its free or not, that is entirely on them. So how about you call in a vehicle let some random blue drive it around and watch what you invested in get destroyed and you have no control over it. Sounds fun right?
yup
had it happen to me before, wasn't paying attention.
if you call it in, it's on you to pay attention and get in it once it drops

Robert Brady III wrote:Delanus Turgias wrote:Robert Brady III wrote:I don't know, I have had someone steal my "****** tank" due to me getting caught on the call in. I tried the same thing (minus hate mail) to get my tank back. He proceeds to drive it straight into the enemy team and gets it destroyed in 3 minutes. Now what the driver didn't understand, was there were modules he could have activated to keep the tank alive. Second, it was a railgun tank I had called in to deal with the enemy tank. A militia fit tank can still cost several hundred thousand ISK and still be extremely effective, but if the person who "saves" your tank has no idea how to regulate modules, understands that not all tanks are blaster tanks, and survivability of a tank isn't regulated to just rolling around murdering everyone, then that investment high or low, is completely wasted. Exactly. I'm pissed if you take my tank either way, but if you can actually successfully drive it around and use it, then I'm not that mad. It's when somebody takes the tank and drives it right into the enemy's most fortified position expecting to win because tanks are totally OP against assaut rifles, right? And then proceeds to get slammed by the 3 guys with darksides hiding behind the rocks that I ******* knew were right there. But just to be clear, OP is a faget who doesn't understand the **** invested into tanks. Exactly what I am talking about. If you call in the tank, you want to protect your investment and you are probably aware of what threats you need to be on the look out for. Whenever I see someone "save" a tank, they almost always drive straight into tank traps and get obliterated because they don't pay attention to hardeners, reppers, NEVER aim at AV fits, or even identify what type of turret they have on the thing. Edit: I do agree that if the person drives well I don't mind. Even if I am in one of the turrets I still keep the tank if it survives. Also I would rather a ****** on my team ruin my tank then a skill driver on the other team get in it.
if you're dumm enough to just leave it out there for me to take, why should i give a damn?
had mine stolen same as everyone else, faults mine for not paying attention and getting in it right away |

had mine stolen same as everyone else, faults mine for not paying attention and getting in it right away Not saying it is anyone's fault or that you should care about taking it. Even good players get caught from time to time, e.g STB always going to the same spot to call in their tanks on a specific map and watching them do it. I always prefer someone on my team taking my tank over the enemy. I don't quite understand the hostility towards people venting frustration on your part though.
the damn things locked for 5 seconds after being dropped off, if i jack it in that time and you're near by, i don't want to hear your whining.
and getting killed isn't an excuse, plenty of cover in your red zone to call it in at.
(now if you get splatted by the idiot AI, that's another thing, and if i see it happen, i'll give the tank back)
stupidity isn't an excuse, ****** up plenty of times in this game, i don't go crying about it in the forums, i hop right back in and apply what i learned

Though it has happened to my tank alt as well. I will be standing there waiting for the f-ing thing to move and then I get the "O" and someone is already inside. Or you click the "O" to quickly and get right out and someone is already driving away. Incredibly frustrating.

rebecca watson wrote:I drunkenly drove a tank into one of those holes in the ground by some of the objectives (with the grates n such) and it got stuck halfway into it. After trying to get it out for a few moments, i saw more and more reds approaching, and since i was already taking AV pressure I decided to bail out of the (now) stationary turret. Bad choice, i was gunned down, only to watch them hack it. It was with a heavy heart that I selected my forge gun fit in the fittings list as I spawned into my uplink overlooking the objective.....
LMAO, i do that all the time with LAV's |
