I decided to ditch the armor repairer on a Myron for a shield booster. She has 3 shield extenders and I can equip 2 turret mods. Effective? With shields down, the dropship is easily destroyed. Got me thinking that armor vehicles are more effective at survival, even if armor is weaker against swarm launchers. |

I wouldent say armour survives better its all down to olay style I put 3 azetropic ward shield extenders and a light clarity ward shield booster with damage modd for my turrets and its a pretty meaty ship. |

Grims tend to have a higher total ehp than myrons do, but they also lose that hugely effective shield buffer against swarms, myrons are also faster but more vulnerable to being knocked into things because they weigh less. atm their is no real advantage that one dropship has over the other so it all comes down to personal preference |

I've seen armour dropships survive huge punishment from forge guns, something I'm quite jealous of, but I ain't giving up my Myron for that, although if I ever get some spare SP (yeah, right) I might specialise into the Gallente dropships just because it's fun to have that flexibility.
But with a hardener, if forge gun rounds deal 1200 damage (militia), by activating a hardener, that damage is reduced by 30%, so it's down to 840. Take two rounds with the "Surge" hardener, and you've deflected a good 720 damage. Deflect three shots, and you've taken more damage than an Azeotropic could.^1 Of course, you're pretty damn vulnerable without the extra shield extender when your hardener is cooling down, but I'd say the time taken to hide and wait for module cooldowns and shield regeneration is probably the same, if not shorter, than the time taken to replenish three extenders worth of shield HP.
Managing the modules requires patience, though. You need to appreciate that hardeners stop quite a bit of damage, so try not to activate both at once unless your shields are already low. Hardener first, assess the damage you're taking, then activate the booster when you know your shields are low enough that the booster pulses are all used to their full potential. Wasting the booster when your shields are at 90% is bad.
^1: I'm pretty sure that's how hardeners work, anyway. |

Be careful though the activation and cooldown times are totally unbalanced compared to the Armour hardener, only activate once you know your under threat or have actually been hit |

I tend to only use acctive shield hardners on my gunlogi in combination with passive shield hardners . Ob the myron I either run with 3 asetropic ward shield extenders and a light clarity ward booster or swap one of the extenders for a suplamental shield amplifier . |

Iv found the shield based ships to be more resistant to swarms , both the shield and armour dropships are as equally vulnarable to forges so it makes more sence to go for the myron when your in the air imo as most of the time you will be dogeing swarms from the makitia rambos. |

I use 2x shield regenerators, a shield booster, a shield resistance amplifier, an armor repairer, a low throughput field stabilizer, a blaster turret and a railgun on my myron. It's always useful to be able to recharge/repair both your armor and shields.
NOTE: My other character is a pilot. I just make all my posts through my main char. |

Passive shield hardeners, shield booster for evac, (forgive this next part.......) shiny Armour thingies that do -11% dam. Still got blasters but I NEVER let them get used cuz "surprise" just doesn't happen when your guns are firing non-stop....oh & afterburner, Afterburner, AFTERBURNER! They may have gotten nerfed (I prefer the new AB cuz it's more like a sprint as opposed to mildly controlled burst...). Gotta remember the Myron's main defense is how nimble it is.
Gave up on the Grim just cuz It's like flying a legless elephant. I can't imagine EVER doing a barrel-role in a Grim. Takes damage like it's getting hit with a potato gun tho, but I like hit-and-run tactics.
Oh, as far as weapon load-out goes...gravity+control=kills, enough of the "+35 kill assist," I'll take the full 50. Enough said. |
