1. Wow, Dropships drastically increased my desire to uninstall
2. There needs to be a extra server that offers no WP, SP, or ISK, where people can try out stuff. I couldn't even "beta test" the dropships because they got blown up on arrival or i got sniped trying to get to it. (these are normal activities in in a full release, but I'm not going to waste time and effort merely to get killed)
3. CCP spawned one of my dropships into the red zone and now owes me ISK to replace it.
Bottom line: Ok, CCP you got the stupid aurum working, now please make the game work. |

LOL. I'm sorry to hear that but at the same time it's funny. Were you using militia dropships? Try them first, they're "cheap" in comparison to the STD ones. Good for flying practice. |

You think that's bad? Just wait till you get one off the ground if you're so lucky. Still wont be safe from rdvs theyll fly into you from all directions constantly. Spawn inside u or just ram you full speed. Its always a one hit ko btw.
Then while youre playing dodge the materializing deathships you get to enjoy some anti vehicles weapons balanced against havs. Try your newly nerfed and broken afterburner. Hint, it does nothing. Want some wp? Try fitting a mobile cru. Oh wait nm you get no points for that. Try upgrading the ship to eventually a million isk. Don't worry its a little better but all the above rdv stuff will still one shot your shil unavoidably and the same. Lookout a militia forge gun! Youve just lost all or half of your armor. Youd be dead 3 seconds later to the second shot if it werent for the fact that the impact knocked your ship gently into a wall. Which cause a one hit k.o.

Nope. Yesterday I called in a ds in a perfectly safe area. It flew around with it hanging underneath bashing these small hills over and pver for the next two minutes. I had time to die amd respawn and run there three seperate times before it fi ally bashed the everloving **** out of my ship to the point it exploded. From the hits I saw it scraped the ground for damage at least 7 times.
Im guessimg that's because I'm bad right? Silly me I should have programmed thr rdv ai myself. |

I find drinking both increases my willingness to use drop ships and at the same time LOSE them. Remember tis just a game. And it can be fun to fly to the tops of buildings and drop a spawn point for my sniper pals. Many WPs have been had this way. :D |

It was safe when I called it in. And ffr a while after. But it became unsafe after it pissed around flying for a full minute. Also that somewhat attracted the attention of reds as you might imagine.
After that reds stuck around cutting me off. I imaging they wanted to jack the ship because olnoone shot at it. A single av could prob have killed it with mods off |

So you called in a drop ship near a danger zone, on terrain that made it difficult to land, and then got your self shot a few times... this is CCP's fault? |

You don't want to fly dropships if you are trying to do well. It's definitely a supporting role. If you get lucky you can get a ton of kills for a teammate who is flying with you, but drophsips definitely are susceptible to getting hit by forge guns and swarm missiles. |

Also once you manage to stay int he air and get a few blues in your ship you will suddenly realize that the ship floor has been coated with instant set amazing awesome super special glue. The blues will seem to be unable to move and be stuck in the ship for the rest of the game.
There is also pepper floating around inside that gets into the gunners eyes so they are unable to see to shoot straight.
Fit Rails or rockets and watch in joy as while hovering for cover by a wall a blue hits the wall or even the front/back of your own ship sending it on a jaunt to the side and spinning into the wall for a nice ISK fire of death.

To be honest, firing rockets out of a dropship turret is worthless as they never hit anywhere close to where you are aiming. I'll give the blues a pass on that one. |

You obviously have a major comprehension problem. The terrain was fine for landing. There were no buildimgs and thr mearest red was a minute away. What are you not understanding? The ship came in and instead of dropping my ds after a few seconds it flew circles a few meters away from ground level and continuously scraped my ds on the ground For so lomg that: Few people had time to go there and I had time to die amd run back several times from mid map before it finally succeeded in beating the planet to death with my dropship

It's when they pivot the gun far right or far left and can actually shoot the ship itself, or when the shoot a wall you are right up against while dodging a swarm. I mean there is nothing to shoot at they just shoot the wall to pass the time and the splash induces a lurch.

Ive called in enough ds to know how and where they work. This was unusual and ive never seen this happen to anyones vehicles anywhere before. Ground was as level as any and ive seen them drop on very hairy terrain before. Like hills so steep it will roll over or buildings slanted roofs same deal. |

I've never flown a dropship before, the common statements about them is the piliot can easily get his dropship shot down or if that doesnt happen then he'll get little to no wp for helping his team and such. |

Hey Blackie, get into a corp battle and if no-one shows up, call in those militia dropships and learn them then. Or, the next time you're in a public match and your team is roflstomping them, call your ds in in a safe area. That's how i learned how to fly them. also, knowing how to fly an r/c helicopter irl helps too.

HAHAHAhahahahaha yep. Also the part about pepper floating around in the gunner's eyes, causing them to miss targets and shoot the dropship instead. |

I feel sorry for dropship pilots really they are like flying coffins.
You know in a HAV if someone else gets a kill you get assist points even if you didn't hit that enemy do you not get those points in a dropship?
My first experience calling in a dropship had the RDV somehow land it upside down and before I could react and escape my shock of wondering why RDV's hate me a blueberry got excited and decided to steal the dropship, sadly it just wiggled on its back like a drunken turtle. Gotta give the bluedot credit he kept trying to right it for a good 5 minutes and thankfully it was behind a building in the redline so no enemys got free wp's or a giggle at my misfortune.
Second attempt I landed on an enemy sniper on top of a building I had a good giggle took off again got about 20yds and a RDV of death got me. |

I dropped about 500,000 isk on dropships. The dropship is too damn sensitive. It's an instapop! Why don't they give us back the old dropship controls? They aren't worth the money.

My condolences about the brain dead AI that runs the RDVs.
I had one drop off a ship and hover hoverhead for a full minute, pinning me to the ground and pushing my ship under an overhang before it decided to dematerialize. It took me another minute to work my ship out of its tight spot.
CCP couldn't affort much in the way of smarts for the RDV, so they are running an early version of CPM on an 8-bit processor with 1k of ram.
Dropship piloting is hands down the most frustrating and least rewarding role in the game. Some of us keep doing it because we love flying, others of us keep at it because we are masocistic. We all dream of the day our ships and our skill well be useful and called for, but each download brings another kick to the nuts. |

Controls are fine. Price to build quality ratio is bad. RDV sabotage happens too damn often. There is no WP incentive other than having a gunner and, well, gunning people. Also some scrubs board and never leave (assists), just useless.
I love to derpship from time to time, but it's not worth the investment at this point. |

Militia ships with BPO modules are great inexpensive trainers. Combat worthy craft cost a lot more. My Myron runs almost 780k ISK a copy. |
