Every time I search for a match I get thrown into a team of cowardly noobs who camp in the hills with sniper rifles and completely ignore the capturing of null cannons which are a deciding factor for the winning team.
I am in a strong corp with experienced players and yet I am hardly ever paired with any of them. Fix this issue because I don't want my efforts going to waste. Put the noobs with the noobs and corp mates with corp mates NOW! |

Cleared a snipers nest one time when i found noone on the map, 6 guys in one location single rank en file, they saw me comming, took some shots; when i went out of sight the forgot about me.
1 clip, single rank & file the 6 the one at least turned around and saw the bullets, the 5 others weren't so fortunate.
You always have an option to clear out a snipers nest you know... |

Good players shouldn't be put with terribad players. If you disagree, please tell me why.
If all the top players got out into the same games, on both sides, how would they pubstomp? If all of the noobs get put into games with each other how would they pubstomp? |

That's not what the OP is saying though, he's saying he wants to get teamed up with his corpmates cause they are good players. He never said anything about the other team, so yeah, it just sounds like he wants to increase his chances of pubstomping or at least not getting pubstomped. |

We're constantly looking at ways to best tweak matchmaking to create more fair maps. We've done it several times over the previous few months and we'll continue doing so.
But this does belong more in the Feedback/Requests section than General Discussions, so I am moving it there. |

Matchmaking affects both sides. I don't enjoy being redlined and I don't enjoy redlining. No one does. OP could have meant the matchmaker pairs up corpmates against other corps for more challenging pub matches. |

Since you are new maybe you weren't here ... oh, Last Week for the Black Screen Hot Fix that included the improved algorithm for the Battle Finder. Except for the Black Screen issue it was actually quite an improvement. It would appear that it has been rolled back but that is just a guess with no confirmation.
What you are seeing in all its ham fisted glory is what we have been facing for sometime now. When they fix the Black Screen part of the Hot Fix we could hope that they would try it once again.
Take a breath, Kitten. It is in the works. |

Yes except his biggest complaint wasn't that they were in the match, it's that they were on his team. |

How about matchmaking done by the players based on payout. Some matches would have >750,000 isk payouts. Then >500,000.then >250,000. Players would naturally be segregated by skill. Better players witg better gear would go for the 750000 isk matched, etc. This way noobs can squad with salt dogs and it's still player controllef |

That means nothing. OP still said to put noobs with noobs |

Said this in several other threads on this subject, but will put it here as well: most important factor, imo, in matchmaking for Pub matches should be whether or not someone is in a pre-made (corp) squad. I.e.: the amount of pre-made squads should be balanced between the teams.
Other things should also be considered, but are much harder to use to accurately predict the strength of a team. Suits, SP , Kills/death, lifetime WP... they all tell you something about a player, but high "scores" in any of these areas don't necessarily mean "good player". Especially once everyone starts getting their "main" build fleshed out and decides to try out other builds with that character. For instance, I could have 5 mill SP spent in Heavy+HMG and have full-proto suits for it, with high KDR and WP gained with that, and then decide to play some games as a shotgun scout: I'd have hardly any relevant skills, basic equipment and little experience.
Now, pre-formed squads on the other hand... sure, they can be squads of random players who are crap. But splitting them evenly across the teams will never hurt. And having 2 (or more...) full corp squads versus none usually means a quick red-line situation... |

I always thought that matchmaking should be done in a KDR comparison, not SP or suits or anything else, its the KDR that shows whos really good or bad... How it stands now its becoming really, really hard to just play in any pub map. |
