Anyone wanting nerfs GTFO!!!!
I want some FUN!!! back in my weapons!!
I want some BUFFS!!! on weapons.
This post on weapons will be long and require edits.
I just want some fun back and some weapons UN-nerfed or put back a bit they were plus maybe a possible new weapon type/category??
Ok.
The buckshot shotgun is a OHK but thats ok since it trades damage in exchange for needing to be used at inches away for maximum results.
The AR works good in its envelope but we want the camera mode back.
The laser works good in its envelope also.
The sniper works good in its envelope also.
The HMG needs CHANGES.

Why are we even entertaining the idea that bullets should disappear at all?
What other FPS even does that?
Stupid.
Also the HMG doesn't have too much range. If you get out past a certain range, the majority of your shots are guaranteed to miss even if you are aiming perfectly. Shots missing means guaranteed loss of DPS. The AR and LR both do not have this issue, therefore there is no issue.
The HMG under-performing in CQC won't be an issue when stacked damage mods are nerfed, and/or the frame rate of this game is improved to the point that a target can be tracked consistently. |

But damage higher. 40 per bullet.
SMG damage 35 per bullet.
True CQC weapons.
If AR user is FARTHER than 40m from HMG then heavy dies since HMG bullets dissapear at distances beyond 40m.
I.e. AR user shoots heavy at 45m and its dead heavy.
But!! if AR user is in 5 to 40m range then its fair for dead AR users at that CQC range.
But,but it was two AR assaults at ten meteres from the heavy HMG. So?
If its a shotgun at inches away then its dead Assault AR user.
Now if we had a solid slug shotgun then whats a good range? 1m to 40m sounds fair.
But what damage does a solid slug shotgun do??
What about 150 per shot militia, 200 basic, 250 advanced, 295 proto, 320 officer gear? Have it do .7 to limbs, 1 to body and 1.8 multiplier to heashots like a huge scrambler pistol. Slow rate of fire.
This seems fair.

If the person with the SMG is killing the heavy its because the heavy is either already damaged before he started firing, or was unable to track his target.... again, due to the terrible frame rate this game has. A human cannot be expected to follow a target when his screen refuses to move with him.
The SMG also has the benefit of being able to strafe while firing with very little change in accuracy. The HMG stays at a broad spray while strafing/moving, and also has constant upward recoil to make it harder to aim. Those are the ACTUAL problems with it in CQC as far as game mechanics go.
Now, why am I killing you at range? Ask yourself this.
Are you....
1. Opening fire on me at the exact same time I'm firing on you?
2. Actually aiming?
3. Running away and exposing your back, forfeiting your DPS and giving me free reign to plow you into the ground?
4. Playing peek-a-boo and getting greedy when you're on low health?
5. Not actually as far away as you want to think you are?

Earlier today, I was fighting a Heavy at about 50m with my SMG (on an AV fitting) vs. his HMG.
Guess who won?
Pro-tip: HMGs don't buff your shield regen.
But back on topic, I hope there are a decent range of valid CQC weapons. I can see a Caldari Blaster-based CQC Weaponthat handles like a solid-slug Shotgun, kind of as a counterpoint to the current Gallente Shotgun. |
