You can use an assault Type-II and Gek-38 on a brand new character who is speced properly. If you have the skills you can easily take a brand new character to the top of the leaderboard. The problem is not with the system, but rather with how people use the system.
I've spoken to players who were planning to pick up hacking V right away, the game is going to be miserable if you are building up non-priority skills or you don't know what you are doing. |

Being able to aim and knowing the enemy position, and where you need to be to avoid getting surrounded and killed is the big difference maker in this game. I just made a new character a day ago and was at a 4 KDR after 9-10 matches right off the bat as a Gek-38 Type II assault.
This is not an arcade shooter where you can blast your way out of any situation. If you see 3-4 ppl moving to your objective don't be the hero and try and fight them all off by yourself, find a safe out if there is one and take it. I think knowing when to fight and when to run is the most basic key to survival that is so rare to see. Map awareness is by far the biggest handicap players have in my opinion. If you want to do well you need to know where the enemy is pushing, and where their vehicles are. It's all visible before you spawn. If you don't have the skill to stand toe to toe learn the maps and how to flank effectively.
If you don't have the skill to kill a player one on one that is one issue, there are going to be people who have 100-200 more HP than you (or if you made the bad choice of militia 300-400 more HP than you which is nearly impossible 1v1 at that point I agree), and if you can't figure out a way to beat them (superior aim or positioning, get the drop on them, or use explosives and lure them) perhaps the game isn't going to be fun for you. |

Surely new players should be facing off against other new players? Atlleast to begin with, if anybody disagrees i would assume it's because you are a ***** and like playing easy mode.
Oh condescension I see.
CCP just needs to add SP rewards to Corp matches, and make the matches worth something. Then things will get a lot better for pub players.
I'm just trying to offer some advice to players who seem to be struggling with the game, if you want to think of me as an elitist **** that's your call. |
