Well I didn't know misspelling one word on an internet forum for a video game defined my experience at reading or writing. Oh well, you learn something new everyday.

By your own definition, when you called the guy an illiterate bastard, you showed yourself to also be illiterate. This is unless you were refering to him as being of an illegitimate birth. That particular meaning of bastard, that you are probably trying to use, is a slang definition. Slang is not accepted as proper English and, often, is associated with people who "show a lack of familiarity with formal language and literature."

In reality, we are all illiterate when it comes to formal English, as society would rather redefine what proper grammar is every generation rather than learn it and use it properly.
