Kadeim wrote:is you need to get in close to hit the targets consistently - which means that I was dying quite consistently too. It is quite frustrating dying so often. This close-range strategy seems to be based on the misconceptions I've already addressed. In future, know that you can deal damage at great range.
Kadeim wrote:It seems that SMG's and other weapons have the same distance, and accuracy and yet more power. The sniper has the greatest range of all weapons.A basic SMG has a maximum range of 39m and an optimal range of 1-15m. All sniper rifles have a maximum range of about 600m. The accuracy with a sniper rifle is based entirely on where you place the crosshairs. A sniper rifle strips most enemies of all of their shields in a single shot and kill them in the second. A headshot tends to be lethal. This rule is usually only broken with heavies or other heavily tanked players.

Kadeim wrote:The way it is now, it makes no sense to try be a sniper when you have to get directly into the fray with everyone else, and you get one shot at a time Again, this is the close-range strategy which with this new information, you can abandon.

Kadeim wrote:*Criticism of SP booster/AUR mechanics/SP cap* You're right in that there should be more information about the cap in-game. There seems to be an assumption that all players are using the forums. Your booster will continue to work, though. Your SP is capped at 1500SP per match, with the booster on. If you earn 1000 WP, you will gain 1500SP per match instead of the 1000SP per match a non-boosted player can receive.
Kadeim wrote:PS: It would be real nice to have some type of "Invoice / Statement" system for the Merc, in their Quarters, so they can see when they bought something, what they bought, and how much they paid. Being an Ex military guy, that could have become a real merc, there is no way I would not keep my receipts/records. That's a good idea. |

Kadeim wrote:Thanks for all the good information. It has been very confusing at times, and I still have a lot to learn. As for the "starter fit," being new at this, I mad modifications through purchases, and do not know how to switch back to the starter fit that doesn't use/loose anything.
As for the ?BPO?? not sure what you mean, but I did buy some stuff, and it seems that (even though I bought several) I cannot separate items to stock certain characters - they all get the same amount, and they all loose the same amount - at the same time.
I bought some blueprints, but when I add them to more than one character, is "joins" those characters and so they all need to be replenished after one of them fights. I don't want to buy any more blueprints (for the price) until I know that I can fit them to different characters - which I can't seem to do for other multiple items that I have purchased.
I'm going to clarify some terminology and stuff so this can be better discussed.
A BPO is a "Blueprint Original" which is an item with an unlimited supply. This is different from a BPC of "Blueprint Copy" which is destroyed when you die. BPOs of some items can be purchased for AUR.
When you are talking about stocking certain characters, I believe you are referring to the "Dropsuit Fitting" menu. This is not a list of available characters but a list of "fittings" which are outfits or configurations of gear for your current character.
When you buy gear from the marketplace, it is added to your assets. For example, if I buy ten sniper rifles, I have ten sniper rifles in my assets.
In the fitting menu, I have a list of different configurations of my gear and I can choose which loadout to go into battle with. If I have two fittings which both use the sniper rifle, they will both draw from the ten sniper rifles I have purchased. If I use either of these fittings and die, the total number of sniper rifles in my assets will decrease by one.
The option "Create New" at the top of this fitting menu will allow you to create a new outfit. There will be a number of pre-populated outfits listed, such as "Assault - Sniper" or "Assault - Medic" and these are fittings full of default gear. This default gear does not exist in your assets but functions similarly to a BPO in that if you do not add any items from you assets to these fittings, they can be used without needing to restock.
Feel free to ask for further clarification on any of these points if I haven't explained them well enough.

To compare to real life outfits, if I have a hat and two jackets... I can make one outfit with jacket A and the hat and one outfit with jacket B and the hat.
If I lose jacket B and my hat, I can no longer wear my hat with jacket A, so have to get a new hat if I want to use that combination of items. |

Kadeim wrote:I sort of get that (fitting - with outfits equipment), but it is weird to me, that when I purchased 5 sniper rifles (higher rated) and I added them to a few different characters, they all said (5) for the amount.
When I bought 5 "Militia Drop Uplink" they all said 5, and I bought 1 "Militia Drop Uplink blueprint" I added that to one of the "dropsuit fitting" and it still showed available for another outfit, so I equipped that one with it - now when I use one of those outfits in a battle, they both loose (what ever they loose that needs to be replenished.)
I would think that once you add a blueprint to one outfit, you either should not be able to add it to another, or that at least they both would not be affected by the replenishment process - especially since one costs more than the other for each individual replenishment cost.
If you own a Militia Drop Uplink Blueprint, your Militia Drop Uplinks have become redundant and can be sold once the market allows. The 5 you have purchased are individual items in your list of assets but the blueprint has unlimited uses, so there's no point in using the ones that can be lost. |
