That's not new. As stated last Fanfest and several times quoted on those forums only temperate planets are in for now. Other planet types are planned but not at release.
The dark cloud wrote:We will fight only on temperate planets which is in my opinion kinda sad. I woulda had loved to fight on different planets. I simply blame the devs lazyness for this to create different looking battlefields.
sad yes but lazy?
The dark cloud wrote:I will tell you how this is going to end up on EVE: Every eve player will find out which planets are temperate, reinforce them to the max so that they cant be taken and thats it. Usually each system in eve has 1-2 temperate planets and thats it.
EVE and Dust players already have found out, where temperate planes are. Here is an example for temperate planets in the Metropolis region distributed in high-sec and low-sec space. About the reinforcement I think posts above cleared that up already.

Sad, isn't it? Probably we should play something else altogether |

If we get to use more of the one big terrain map that all the battles currently use, combined with a decent variety of structures, vegetation and moods and I think we could survive until Maps 2.0 is ready.
I really want to see the return of the multi-stage battles though. |

i dont understand why the instalations are always in the same place on these massive maps we have. letting them rotate would give allot more variety, or does this already happen and ive just not noticed? |

it costs $500,000 just to add a new char as DLC to a side scrolling 2d fighting game "
it is estimated that each marvel vs capcom hero cost $1 million US
so then you have to stop and think this is a 3d game the game is FTP -with the option to pay for more stuff but not every one will do that
they have to pay for the games servers they have to pay people working on other projects they have to pay the creators of dust
im sorry mum did not supply ccp with the millions needed to have a massive team of people working on the game just so it can meet YOUR release day and be on time and up to YOUR expectation's which have possible been set by the standards of other triple A games that already have millions in funding before they even consider making a game
even after all that you want then rushing to make new maps when they already have issues with the maps now ? like oh hey im walking up a hill
STRAIGHT THROUGH MY SHIELDS AND HALF MY ARMOUR that's fine let's just focus on maps these are issues that don't need to be focused on we clearly need to add more stuff and hope it does not make a bigger mess
(that is what i think every time i think ccp should add something to dust) and if you want water GO FOR A SWIM IN ONE OF THEM POOLS AND STAY DOWN THERE (yes there is water in dust and yes it does kill you)
*edit* The Skull girl char cost only $150,00 as i had my numbers wrong but i quote "it was estimated that each marvel vs capcom hero cost about 1 million to make"
(here are the details of the pricing for making the skull girl dlc hero) While $150,000 does seem like a lot of money for a single character to be added to the game, Lab Zero Games has broken down exactly where the finances go.
$48,000: Staff Salaries GÇô 8 people for 10 weeks $30,000: Animation and Clean-up Contracting $4,000: Voice recording $2,000: Hit-box Contracting $5,000: Audio Implementation Contracting $20,000: QA Testing $10,000: 1st Party Certification $10,500: IndieGoGo and Payment Processing Fees $20,500: Manufacturing and Shipping Physical Rewards

The maps have at least two sizes of sockets. I've seen some installations rotate but others seem to have a fixed orientation. I'm fairly sure the collection of what looks like office buildings on the small ambush version of Manus Peak has been in at least two different orientations lately. |

It's not like they have a magic dev team that can do everything on a whim. There needs to be planning, testing, evaluation and then deployment. Everyone needs to calm down and let them do what they do. I too would like to fight in exotic environments, but it just wont happen right off the bat. It is coming though.
CCP is throwing out nothing at all. Now restart your excuses. |

Have you ever considered that the next build is taking so long because they made core changes and nothing is compatible until everything is upgraded?
Some changes are easy, some changes are so fundamental and broad reaching you just have to grind through it all to get to the next step. I'm guessing that's why we've had nothing new other than changed database stats.

Pent'noir wrote:they have said that they had done some in house testing of cloud cities (guessing gas planets, which I'm curious how we aren't instantly crushed under their gravity), but it was far from anything they would consider having yet. Just get the basic temp planets out there and see what bugs pop up, then add more types as time goes on.
Its possible to have cloud cities on planets like Venus. It is within the realm of possibility that this would take place on EVE's Storm planets. http://proceedings.aip.org/resource/2/apcpcs/654/1/1193_1?isAuthorized=no |
