Hello Dust
We have just finished the Investigation into Galen Gaia actions and he has been found to be in breach of 1 of our Code Of Conduct rules. While D-Uni Does not endorse the actions he described or the methods he used to to bring the issue to light in anyway, we are primarily an educational establishment and realise that people make mistakes. When these situations arise we feel it is best that people learn from there mistakes and Galen Gaia has shown both remorse and a new found understanding of how his actions reflect on his corporation and corpmates.
I would like to make clear that D-Uni does not endorse team killing, AFK Farrming or Trolling in anyway and we have found that, contrary to Gaia's initial post he is only guilty of the latter.
As such we will be removing his titles and placing him in probation. He has also been banned from posting in the public forums until Fanfest 2013, the exceptions being the Feedback and Bug report and D-Uni's private forums.
I would also like to offer the community at large an apology for any misgivings surrounding these events and offer what reassurance I can that such an event will not happen again as we will be taking steps to impress upon current and new student at D-Uni the implications of there actions in public channels.
Thank you for your patients with this situation and your understanding. |

Having discussed this matter within the other directors we feel that this should draw line under this matter and I would like to once again apologise to the Dust community for this mis-understanding.

Hello,
I think this happened to me.
I spawn and am surrounded and get killed instantly. I click to respawn, and I spawn in the same place, am surrounded and killed instantly. I click to respawn again, and I spawn in the same place again, am surrounded and killed instantly again. I click to respawn again, and I spawn in the same place agan, am surrounded and killed instantly again. I click to respawn again, and I spawn in the same place agan, am surrounded and killed instantly again. I click to respawn again, and I spawn in the same place agan, am surrounded and killed instantly again.
Sometimes I spawn in different places. Other times I spawn in the same place again again and again, but I am hitting the same button X.
What is going on?
Thanks |

If you look at the map after you die, it says to hit the square button to respawn at another point. Otherwise, if you just hit X and there is a way point already setup on the map you will respawn at that waypoint. If that point has been overrun it is in your best interest to random spawn back in to the game. |

OP's intention was obvious and not malicious at all.
As penance you should all have to do 100 year internships at FOX news.
If DUST Uni kicks this guy it'll be a travesty and cost them some respect in my books.
P.S. How about an uplink variant with a 'detect enemy within 5 m' functionality? Or the ability for players to tag spawn point as 'hot' or 'safe' on the map?
P.P.S. And as the person who placed the uplink, i want the ability to tun it on and off. That way i can protect newberrys without having to fight my way back across the map to change fittings so i can drop two more uplinks to tun off the hot ones.
As a n00b to New Eden, a very confusing thread. I did realize the OP had good intentions but cannot tell if the other responses in the thread were legitimate or staged by Dust Uni to increase the drama. Either way, I found the above post to be the most constructive.
After playing only a few days, I concur, the placer of uplinks should be able to enable/disable them, not only to stop people from unknowingly spawning into a "bad" situation, but also to make the uplink "private". The uplink could be enabled when the placer or squad needs it and disabled to keep everyone from spawning in wrecking a recon/low profile mission.
I like to use the uplinks for scouting, sniping and do not want assaults and heavies spawning in when I am wearing profile dampers.
I also would like an uplink version that could be remotely detonated if it gets camped...
Excuse my ignorance if these versions exist. I am away from my PS3 and cannot check the marketplace to see if they do exist. |

If someone is a part of a squad, their uplinks can only be used by members of the squad. |

I was not aware of this, thanks for the info. I still would prefer to have more granular control of uplink access. |
