The people using REAL guns are in the military. Your plasma-bullet-spewing AR is as real as my laser rifle or man-portable minigun.

Most people use AR because they automatically repeat the habits that made them good in other FPS games, and because it's a solid jack of all trades.

Not quite, the only difficulty with the mass driver is getting the hang of it and getting used to the arc. After that your firing a giant arcing bullet that you don't even have to hit the target with.

However, you also have to deal with travel time, keeping track of your splash radius when enemies get close, and keeping ammo around you at all times.

With a mass driver you are often raining rounds at long range, which means you have to try to predict where the enemy will be in 2~3 seconds time. And you typically need at LEAST 2 solid hits to kill even the weakest enemies (unless they are in a starter fir scout suit). You often have to sorround the enemy with shells and trick him into running in the direction you want him to go.

I have to side with the Mass Driver. I've had plenty of 39/0 games with a SR, I've only seen 3 people EVER clear 30 kills with only the MD, one of them was me, one I never caught the name of (hit square too fast after the match) and the other..... I can't remember his name, and I really should... he's an Imperfect in a logi suit... lil help? He's been running MDs for a long time...

I prefer my plasma bullet spewing AR.

Yeah, i look at the kill feed. The are mostly AR, because all the skilled players likes to use a REAL gun. Not because is easy to use...

Last time i check, you have to "Aim" and pull the trigger to kill things ...is not like the AR comes with an auto-aim module.

I agree the HmG is easy to use as a weapon but the combination with the heavy suit and all its slowness, reloading time etc.. adds difficulty to its prolonged use.
However the extreme mobility of the assault suit puts the Assault rifle back in the number one easy category.

And your correct this thread is not about one weapon being OP it is about which takes less finger skills to get more kills and less deaths.

The kick is so high now, that i have to use my AR as a burst rifle, and adjust my aim to the neck area, to use the recoil for a head shoot. If i try to aim for the head, the AR kicks instantly, and i end up shooting at the sky after few bullets.

Obviously the most OP weapon is HMG. My inbox filled with tons of mail couldn't be filled with liars, right? But then again - as a Heavy AR I got a lot of hate mail too. Nothing pleases everyone. :(

Oh, so thats why I see stacks of nothing but AR's a heavy every few games and if im very unlucky a shotgunner will appear. DOUBLE FAIL LOGIC!

If i wanted to get lots of kills, and feel like i'm amazing at this game, i will be using a HMG or a Shotgun. But i like to have fun playing ....

That is the difference. Is alot more fun to use an AR with a Logi suit, than a HMG with a Heavy suit.
