One defender player is randomly chosen to hold the key to the location of their team's secret data. Defenders always know the location GÇô it is marked on their maps. Attackers can either kill the key holder GÇô at which point the location shows up on their maps GÇô or search it out by sweeping the map or observing enemy movement. Once the location is discovered it has to be hacked for the attackers to win. Either side can win by clone depletion or with a higher clone count at game time-out.
- Attackers spawn at the edge of the arena, defenders spawn in the interior of the arena. Both groups spawn near their teams but not clumped.
- Game time out should be set to total-clone-count * 5 seconds (two 80 clone teams lasts a little over 13 minutes).
- Arena size should be 1200 square meters per active player. (a 32 player arena would be about 195 meters on a side if it was square)
- Arena contents should be buildings and / or obstacle filled and maze-like. No location should have fewer than 4 avenues of access and less than 2 medium distance sight lines.
Variations:
- The secret data location would need to be truly random so experience would not expose all the GÇ£secretGÇ¥ locations.
- Alternatively, a second player could GÇ£dropGÇ¥ the secret container at a random spot. This of course would require the ability to drop a hackable container and a timer which would force the player that holds it to drop it.
- An alternative to that would be for the player to hold it and the game to end if that player was killed. If the key holder was killed in this variation the player holding the container would be flagged on the attacker's radar and in the 3D spotting mechanism.
Any of these game types open up the GÇ£We have to find the secret stuff we lost/learned about so we can open up the next step in our attack/discovery-of-the enemy-base/what-everGÇ¥ kinds of stories / game-play. |

I like it.
One person spawns holding the thing. If they press R1 or they change weapons it gets dropped. Once it gets dropped that person becomes the GÇ£KeyGÇ¥. If you kill them the device location shows on the attackerGÇÖs overview.
If a newb spawns with it, it may end up in a less than ideal location, but at least it will be random. If an experienced player spawns with it, it will end up in a defensible position, but defensible positions would be by definition less random. |

Fox, put your idea in the variations. Thanks! |
