if i'm in a squad we exclusively use our ob's on tanks.
only meaningful thing to do in beta left is blow up tanks. |

no tanker would go to a tank only game, they'd lose their tanks lol. the whole idea of them using tanks in ambush is so that they won't lose their tanks, all the guys talking about tears and trash like that are simply chicken ***** avoiding skirmish. |

Do you tank? I do. In my experience it is far more risky to bring a tank into ambush than skirmish. So your reasoning makes no sence to me. As an experienced tanker, I would actually be quite interested in a tanks only ambush, for nothing more than fun factor (money isn't everything, and for those to whom it is, I pitty you). Wouldn't be able to do it often though.
I ride with a alot of tankers, and their is only one risky map to bring your tank in as far as ambush is concerned.
as for skirmish the maps are larger, but they have ALOT more time to get your tank, they can get orbitals, and you have to stay alive alot longer, it's by far the riskier of the those two game modes at least if you're a decent tanker.

Fighting tanks is not worth my time with i can kill 10-20 players in the time i could spend chasing a tank around the map. The only time I bother to hunt tanks is when it becomes less profitable for me to avoid the tank then to hunt it down. And then he goes down but it still only worth my time because he was personally in my way.
I'm selfish that way, I don't care if my team is getting slaughters as long as its to my benefit to not hunt that tank down I wont. Wining and losing the match is not even a factor because it does not matter if you win or lose the match all that matters is how much SP/ISK I can pull per min.
Make it work my while to hunt them.
nope it's laughable how little killing one rewards you, but it's the merit and challenge bringing the tankers down a bit that I enjoy. like I said before their is little else left to do in beta. I got plenty of isk, and am really not worried about wp. |
