So I was playing a match today with one of my female friends. She sets up as a sniper/scouter for our squid and calls in information as we are moving. The match starts and two guys, "Lieutenant Arc Angel" and "I'm Wilson", start shooting her and generally messing with her. They won't leave her alone. They then join our squad and start insulting her and women in general. She finally gets mad enough and insulted enough to shut down the console and since then won't play Dust. This wasn't the first time this has happened. So we go online just to find that CCP has no was of reporting issues like this. I'm a time when this issue has become so big they do nothing. 343i life-bans players that sexually harass female players, what does CCP do? How do you even report these actions? |

An immature child? Mute button? Mute didn't stop them from standing in front of her the entire game preventing her from shooting, it didn't stop them from standing around her shooting towards enemies long enough to get there attention so they would shoot her. Mute only stops part of the problem. Where you think this magical mute button is going to work is beyond me and exceptionally ignorant. Also to so openly and ignorantly claiming the uselessness of "words on the internet" shows your complete lack of information on how serious of a problem it is. I am making a post because my friends play this game to relieve stress of college, work, and military. These players aren't helping. |

I am making a post because my friends play this game to relieve stress of college, work, and military. These players aren't helping. It's not against the rules to shoot at your teammates and stand infront of them as they shoot, you little baby *****. Blueberries do that to me every single game, and you don't see me demanding a lifetime ban. It's not a problem. Just because you have a vagina doesn't give you special treatment and earn men lifetime bans for an issue you can solve with one button press. if you can't handle words on the internet, I've got some very bad news for you in regards to the real world...HTFU
I am sorry that you have such an issue with other players, I'm also sorry your not able to comprehend my statement. I was giving examples of other games are their methods of handling things. My position on life-bans nor yours are the object of the information I am trying to relay. If you would like to I'm sure starting another thread would accomplish that. I don't have a vagina, my friend does however, while this does not entitle her to special treatment, it does entitle her to be treat fairly. Now think about the real world and words, they get you imprisoned, fined, or fired. Lastly, if your getting harassed every game, then your doing something wrong and if your not, report them. |

Allow me to clarify the issue slightly though. She was harassed, she muted them and I squad locked as soon as I was out of combat and could find the functions (after never needing to use them), they continued to harass her the rest of the match in every way they could. She left the match. We looked for a portal to report the players per-Dust and we couldn't find a way. That is the discussion. |

It amazes me some of the interesting opinions a lot of people have had on this subject. Also the great amount of men that believe women should just take it, deal with it, or ignore it. What century do you live in? Since when should people not be held accountable and since when should anyone take something laying down? The internet is the way it is not because of the trolls and harassers, it's this way because people allow it. I posted this thread to shed light on a problem and to hopefully gain a portal to report players. Because I hope that when I engage an enemy he is a redberry and not someone on my own team. I don't need someone to take care of my squad. I've taken care of my squad in the military and I will take care of my friends now that I'm out. I've got that. But there are people out there that don't have a Dregan808, Geth Massredux, Parson Atreides, or any of these others that watch their backs. I bring this issue up because there isn't a place for them to report people harassing them. Insinuate ten people suffer depression, there isn't a HTFU for them. There is support. As a community we should give it to them. I lost three friends to enemy Engagements, I lost four to their own inner demons. I'm sorry if I take things like this more seriously than a select few, but just because you don't see a problem doesn't mean there isn't one. |
