Also, we have no idea what difference they will offer in STATS. If the difference is solely visual (which would make me very very very angry) then testing will be quickly done. Also, maybe they'll manage to reallocate every dropsuit skill SP so people can try a different one.

Finally, regarding the two sub-types..... I think we got fooled. Those dropsuits that were leaked will only ever be those "15 Aur" suits from the weekly sales. Nothing more... We Already had 2 ... Assault Shock was the last one.

Actually its 3 x 4, logistics and assault are in the same category. In a video from CCP they revealed that there are 3 types: small frame (scout), medium frame (assault, logistics), and large frame (heavy).
We know the Amarr crusader and Gallente pilot suits are coming, and that those will have unique stats; crusader will have buffs for teammates, and debuffs against enemies.

Speaking if which CCP should really give all characters on a single account passive income. If they had that I wouldn't have 3 other psn accounts to have the same effect. Anyways, I have one character saving up for minmatar tanks, and my other lat will go for the MCCs and jet fighter. But now I'm using her to test hand to hand combat. I've got some fun success showing normal pistol melee is better than nova knifes by far with skill points invested. On type-2 you get a 200% increase in damage with modules and skills. 375 damage <3

Crusader suits are already confirmed as a new suit type with a different profile and purpose from any existing suit. It seems likely (to me) that they'll be a vaguely Logi-ish suit type, where the purpose of the suit is squad/team support. Gallente Pilot suits may or may not be a medium frame, but because of how specialised that is as a role, it's unlikely they'll have something along those lines without a frontline combat suit backing it up. So there's ALMOST definitely going to be at least 3 Gallente suits within the small and medium frame sizes because the Pilot suit could easily fill either, but doesn't make sense to be their only medium frame. Amarr might get a more directly combat-oriented suit to pair with the Crusader, or one with some other advantage which complements (or is better complemented by) the Crusader. I doubt it'll be as simple as "Scout, Logi, Assault, Heavy" for each race. I think there will be a sort-of-Scout small frame for each race, an Assault-alike medium frame, and a Heavy-equivalent large frame, then each will have their unique racial variant suit. Gallente get pilot suits, Amarr get the Crusader/Command suit, Minmatar get the Logi, Caldari get.... ??? (watch this space).
