Whenever anyone else complains about TZ inconvenience they just get a mocking from our US friends.
From the rest of the world let me be the first to say - HTFU. You know, calling someone out on their hypocrisy doesn't look anywhere near as good when you're being just as bad. If you're going to call them out for crying when they tell you not to, that's fine. But as soon as you do the same to them, you negate your own right to cry when it happens to you again. Because as soon as you've shouted "HTFU" at someone getting the short end of the stick like this, you become the hypocrite.
I'm supporting this complaint - which affects EVERYONE in those timezones, Canada, Mexico, South America, not just USA, as well as causing similar problems for many people to whom this is late Friday "I'm out partying" night or early Saturday "I need a sleep-in to recover from a hard week's work" morning. I'm supporting it because the hours are strange for people where I live (it's fine for me, because I'm nocturnal), and I'm supporting it because I don't want to be that guy who's perfectly happy to complain about how my country gets treated like dirt, but isn't willing to back someone else up when they're getting slammed for living in the wrong place. |

And I have to ask, even as you're complaining about this, you're sounding very reasonable and well-thought-out in your complaints. Have you backed people up who are getting shouted down by other Americans saying "deal with it" when another region is being screwed over? Because you sound like the kind of person who would actually be supportive of that kind of complaint even when it's not you making it.
And if you HAVE been one of the "deal with it" people in the past, has this situation made you feel guilty about that attitude? |
