Any tips on what to do when you find yourself in a dropship. Like how see down to know where to jump out or tips on using the guns. I think a lot of us are clueless here, in a battle today we were way ahead until everyone started spawning into a dropship. Like me they were probably just jumping out right into the middle of reds. |

wait until the pilot hovers near an objective then jump out, trust the pilot to put you where your needed. Also when we stay in the same space for a minute get the hint and jump out. As for gunning its pretty rare for a ds pilot to trust bluedots to gun for them, most of the time you just screw up, miss the target, or manage to continually shoot at the installation while ignoring the guy running right underneath the dropship. And due to how often we have to fall back you will be more effective on the ground then gunning in any case |

Actually had a whole squad of blue berries jump out of my DS earlier today and capture an objective. I was so proud of them. *sniff* They grow up so fast. |

Blueberies by there verry nature are slow but capable learners . Iv had a few squads do what they are ment to fo and jump out and do the job its a cool feeling when you realise your blueberries are up to task at hand . That being said im still sure allot of them get on a turret sim for the enimy mcc and scellotape the fire button down its either that or they jump out when im flying over red zones wtf with that lol . |

If you have a mic try to connect to the pilot. Team speak might work. Or join the squad of the pilot if you there is room and you both have mics.
Regardless of the mic situation state the situation clearly: DS Pilot I am on your right Blaster Turret. We have one set of Swarms coming from 4 o'clock.
Be ready to bail out. Some DS Pilots are new and some are not. If the pilot says or does Bail then why are you still in the Death Ship?
If you wind up in a Gun Slot using either a Blaster, Rail Gun or Missile Turret here are some things for you to Do and Not Do.
Don't Ever Fire At Turrets. A Turret has 100% aggro to 100% of its range when fired upon. Without shooting at it it gets aggro when you are within 50% of its range. If something else grabs its attention it will forget about you. So don't go asking the Turret to shoot down the ship that is carrying your silly Merc butt many meters above the DUST.
Get used to the Turrets and how they work. If the pilot is flying slowly and smoothly they are looking for you to jump or shoot. If you aren't in a Turret you should be able to work out what to do. If you are in a Turret see what is available on Your side of the ship or nearly directly under it.
Note that you Can shoot the ship. Don't do it. The pilot will think some Reds has done it and will evade putting everything at risk in inverse proportion to their ability.
Blaster and Rail Gun Turrets overheat. There is a dial on the right side of the UI that shows your current heat gauge. As it nears the top Stop Shooting. Once you overheat the Gun (any of them) there is normally a 10 second cool down penalty. That may be long enough for you and the Ship to die.
There are two basic Missile Types. Cyclic and everything else. With the Cyclic you hold the trigger down and it will just send a constant stream* of missile (lower HP damage) at the target. The others work with more damage but are not nearly as accurate as the Cyclic. They are also faster shooting and once you are in one you will know the difference forever more. The best feature is they can be very good against LAVs, HAVs, Installations and Infantry to a lesser extent. They do have significantly longer range than any Blaster.
If the Turret Aiming Pip is White you cannot hit the target with any significant damage. Once it is Orange you can. And should.
If the Pilot is shouts Jumps, do it. Now! Not waiting as you will miss what you were being aimed at.
Capture whatever you are near. If the situation is good than jump back into the ship and do it again.
Good Luck.
* The standard Missile Turret on a LAV will be a non-cyclic Missile Turret. Unless you get in one of mine. But they will show you what they normally work like. Boom, longish pause, boom, repeat. I don't recall if you have to pull the trigger every time. The Cyclic will is different. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom until you let go of the trigger. |

Some good tips in here. I just want to add something for ambush.
In Ambush, usually a dropship pilot like myself will bring a CRU just for the team to be able to have an alternate, or predictable spawn. If the ship is smooth or stationary, he's either healing his shields, or wanting you to jump. I'll sit in team speak, and not squad so that I can talk to anyone who spawns in, but that doesn't mean I need lessons in flying, or want someone to flip out because I "just pulled 6 guys out of the action" for caring about preserving the ship and the spawn. If you have an idea for a better location, great, express it with some sense, don't tell a dropship pilot you don't care if they get shot down, just to satisfy your limited perception of the battlefield. So when you're in a ship that is handled well, trust them some to have a better view of the battlefield. |
