Looking at the stats between the militia sub machine gun and the one given in the merc pack it seems they aren't any different. Why have two items the same with different names? it's intentionally misleading |

You feel slighted because your expectations were silly. I expected a differently named gun to be different in some aspect other than the name. That is a reasonable expectation. |

Pretty sure the "Toxin" SMG from the Merc Pack has a higher clip capacity than the militia one. 80 bullets compared to 64 for the militia. Same damage and accuracy, just more bullets which come in handy. Also, as with all non-militia gear, lower CPU and PG requirements. It's a backup weapon anyways, nothing to build your character around. I could be mistaken, but that's what I remember seeing off the top of my head. |

There is a difference between the Toxin and a standard SMG.
The toxin is a BPO you get wrapped up in the merc pack that you don't need to replace. The standard SMG isn't. |

The toxin has no skill requirements and is also a blueprint those two benifits I would think make it worth it as its at least as good as the first tier smg but its a bpo I love my toxin and get lots of kills when my hmg needs reloading I tight spots |

These two things alone make it a great item to have. You could get the Merc Pack from Gamestop and get both the Toxin and Syndicate so you have a choice of colors. Nothing like a bright red SMG to show off on the battlefield.

if it had militia stats then yes, but it has standard (tier 1) stats, so not a militia unit but a special... also read the description, it uses doped rounds - hence "toxin" |

doped rounds do slight damage that increases over time. So it does more dmg than MLT or STD and it's BPO. Good investment as a backup weapon. |

Question what is Meta Level, and how does that affect anything?
Edit: I have also heard that the Toxin does decent damage (for an SMG) to vehicles. Might not be true though.
@Free Healing: I was in a match against you the other day! I felt so bad having to gun down someone who has taught me so much on the forums , and is also a fellow LogiBro, well, LogiGal actually. |

Copied from the EvE Wiki:
Quote:The Meta level of an item indicates its quality. The higher the number, the better the item often is.
Tech I items have no Meta level displayed. They are considered to be of base quality.
Tech II items have a Meta level of 5. They are the highest quality items that can be manufactured and sold by players.
Certain faction or other items may have Meta levels higher than 5. Their attributes, however, may not always be better than those of the Tech II variant of the item.
Basically the higher the meta level the better the weapon, suit, armor etc... |

toxin is more effecient, and you never have to pay for it. the pay part is a small thing but the effeciency is whats important |

Larger clip and shorter reload time make the Toxin vastly better than the Militia SMG. The fact it cost nothing beyond the initial purchase makes it better than the Standard SMG. |

It has a bigger clip than the militia. it is a shiny white'ish blue. It is not misleading because they didn't say that it was some special weapon (Assuming that is what you were stating as "misleading.").

The "Toxin" is the only SMG in the aforementioned Merc Pack. Not sure what else the OP could be talking about... |
