whats going on did they get their lock on removed? ive noticed that the packed av's are not locking on as they should or used to. Also notice the decrease in damage to the vehicals they dont blow up with one grenade anymore. |

so i had this militia tank right i was trying out a diff build for a change to see how it goes in this fit i was going to attempt to try out how having damage control and 2x Armour reps and 1x shield rep works in even that would just be stupid due to energy cost
But in dust no energy costs
so i come out and its working really well they where not getting through my tank and i was baiting them with how much damage they where doing rather hard
they kept thinking they where about to kill me it was funny
so then next thing you know full hp driving around one guy comes out in front of me... and 3 nads all thrown in the same amount of time it took for some one to lock on a swarm missile launcher onto me
i had time to activate damage control after my shields went down
but one soldier 3 av grenades and its not even a utility slot
sure if i had active hardeners and extended Armour and what not i would have been fine >.> but then that's the only way your allowed to play dust due to thous grenades ?
and people are saying there under powered ?
*edit* militia tank fit 200K+ av nad like what 20K is i hope ? |

Many people have upgraded their shield and armor skills - these also affect vehicles - I've been operating under the assumption that this was the reason why it now takes 2 regular AV 'nades. |

I've only started using AV nades in the last few weeks. Here's what I noticed based on my experience with the standard ones and packed.
Standards have massive homing ability, but are pretty much useless against anything other than cheap LAV's. Takes two to take out a free or cheap LAV.
Packed have almost no homing ability, they cannot OHK a free/cheap LAV but it only takes a few bullets prior to hitting it to get that OHK. So it's really close. Pretty much useless against any halfway decent tanks. |

i haven't noticed any difference in tracking. they do feel slightly less effective damage-wise, but i'm assuming that's just the arms race effect. we're throwing them at BETTER HAVs and LAVs overall.
i still get the occasional LAV one shot with packed AV grenades, so i'm fairly confident they didn't nerf them.
but this is a good example of not getting comfortable. the people in the vehicles are skilling up, you should be too. tanks are not new, and they're not going anywhere. they're only gonna get worse. |

Heres my take on this. Packed AVs still OHK a free LAV IF you throw it on the ground in front of them and they explode from underneath the vehicle, which I also believe all vehicles have damage bonus to the undercarriage. If you throw it straight at the LAV its kind of a crapshoot but usually will take a few bullets to take it out afterward. |

Look and see which LAV's you can OHK and which ones you can't. I would guess Bolochs still go down with one packed AV grenade but Onikuma's just barely survive and a couple of AR finishes the job. This is probably due to the fact that people are just now starting to train up Shield Control. And since AV grenades are less effective against shields than armor you can no longer OHK them. |
